Grandfather, tell my a story!
Alright, go and get your storybook.
No, No, not one of those, a real story!
A real story?
Yes, tell me about when you were a boy.
Well, then, I shall have to take you back with me,
a long way in time...
It was my thirteenth year on a cold winter's day,
as I walked through the enchanted forest,
I heard the sound of horses and men at arms,
I felt compelled to walk on
and find the place of these sounds,
and when the forest did clear
I was standing on a hill
before me was a great plain
upon it the armies of the worlds
standing, waiting.
I thought to myself,
for whom or for what are they waiting?
Suddenly a gust of wind came up from the North,
there appeared a lone rider,
holding a sword of steel,
then from the south came another bearing a battle ax,
from the east came a third holding a spiked club,
and finally from the west a rider who weilded a great hammer of war.
With them came their soldiers of death,
followed by an Army of Immortals.
They were few in number
but the look in their eyes told all who beheld them
that they would leave this day only in victory or death.
And there was a great silence...
My heart began to pound,
storm clouds filled the sky with darkness,
rain came and the four winds blew with such anger
that I held fast to a tree.
I watched the four riders raise their weapons into the air.
Without warning, screaming their war cry
they led the attack,
down to the battle they rode,
they met the armies of the world with a mighty clash!
I could feel the ground shake,
the earth drank much blood that day.
Each of the four, was unto himself,
a whirlwind of doom!
When the smoke did clear,
many thousands were dead.
There was much blood and gore.
Their bodies lay broken
and scattered across the battlefield
like brown leaves blown by the wind.
And I saw the four ride together to the top of the hill,
while below them the soldiers of death assembled,
all those who would now swear allegiance to them.
And the four spoke the words of the Warrior's Prayer.
Gods of war I call you,
My sword is by my side.
I seek a life of honor,
free from all false pride.
I will crack the whip with a bold mighty hail.
Cover me with death if I should ever fail.
Glory, Majesty, Unity
Hail, Hail, Hail.
And as I stood and looked on,
I heard the Armies of the world
hail them without end
and their voices of victory
carried long and far throughout the land!

La Prière du Guerrier

Grand-père, raconte-moi une histoire !
D'accord, va chercher ton livre d'histoires.
Non, non, pas l'un de ceux-là, une vraie histoire !
Une vraie histoire ?
Oui, raconte-moi quand tu étais un garçon.
Eh bien, alors, je vais devoir te ramener avec moi,
très loin dans le temps...
C'était ma treizième année, un froid jour d'hiver,
alors que je traversais la forêt enchantée,
j'ai entendu le bruit des chevaux et des hommes d'armes,
Je me suis senti obligé de continuer
et de trouver l'endroit d'où venaient ces bruits,
et quand la forêt s'est dégagée
j'étais sur une colline
devant moi se trouvait une grande plaine
sur laquelle se dressaient les armées du monde
debout, attendant.
Je me suis dit :
pour qui ou pour quoi attendent-ils ?
Soudain, une rafale de vent est venue du nord,
est apparu un cavalier solitaire,
tenant une épée d'acier,
puis du sud est venu un autre portant une hache de bataille,
de l'est est venu un troisième tenant un gourdin à pointes,
et enfin de l'ouest un cavalier qui brandissait un grand marteau de guerre.
Avec eux sont venus leurs soldats de la mort,
suivis d'une armée d'Immortels.
Ils étaient peu nombreux
mais le regard dans leurs yeux disait à tous ceux qui les voyaient
qu'ils ne quitteraient ce jour que par la victoire ou la mort.
Et il y a eu un grand silence...
Mon cœur a commencé à battre la chamade,
des nuages orageux ont rempli le ciel d'obscurité,
la pluie est tombée et les quatre vents ont soufflé avec une telle colère
que je me suis accroché à un arbre.
J'ai vu les quatre cavaliers lever leurs armes en l'air.
Sans prévenir, criant leur cri de guerre
ils ont mené l'attaque,
ils ont dévalé la colline pour aller au combat,
ils ont rencontré les armées du monde avec un choc puissant !
Je pouvais sentir le sol trembler,
la terre a bu beaucoup de sang ce jour-là.
Chacun des quatre, était en soi,
un tourbillon de malheur !
Lorsque la fumée s'est dissipée,
des milliers de personnes étaient mortes.
Il y a eu beaucoup de sang et d'horreurs.
Leurs corps étaient brisés
et éparpillés sur le champ de bataille
comme des feuilles brunes emportées par le vent.
Et j'ai vu les quatre chevaucher ensemble jusqu'au sommet de la colline,
tandis qu'en dessous, les soldats de la mort se rassemblaient,
tous ceux qui allaient désormais leur prêter allégeance.
Et les quatre ont prononcé les paroles de la Prière du Guerrier.
Dieux de la guerre, je vous appelle,
Mon épée est à mes côtés.
Je cherche une vie d'honneur,
libre de toute fausse fierté.
Je vais craquer le fouet avec un cri puissant et audacieux.
Couvre-moi de mort si jamais je dois échouer.
Gloire, Majesté, Unité
Salut, Salut, Salut.
Et comme je me tenais là et que je regardais,
j'ai entendu les armées du monde
les acclamer sans fin
et leurs voix de victoire
portaient loin et longtemps à travers le pays !
