Darling, one day I'll spy a wisp of smoke on the horizon by the sea. And then a ship will come into view, sailing slow and white, and enter the harbor with a mighty roar. You'll see?
It's come!
But I won't run down to meet him

I'll take myself up to the brow of the hill and wait, and wait. It'll be such a long wait, but I won't mind
And then a man will leave the crowd in the town below, a tiny, distant figure
Climbing slowly toward me. Who could it be?
Who could it be?
And when he finally reaches me, what will he say?
What will he say?
He'll call out, "Butterfly," from far away. I won't answer, and I'll hide myself, partly for fun and partly so I don't die on the spot from joy at seeing him again. After he's searched everywhere, he'll finally cry,
