Lyrics and translation Sissel - Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace
Grâce étonnante
Some
believe
that
"Christian"
is
another
word
for
"preachy."
If
that
was
the
case,
John
Newton
could
not
have
been
a
Christian.
He
was
a
slave
trader
and
was
responsible
for
much
pain
and
sorrow.
One
day
he
was
literally
hit
in
the
head
and
in
a
light
saw
what
the
entire
faith
really
meant:
grace.
Then
he
wrote
Amazing
Grace.
Certains
pensent
que
"chrétien"
est
un
autre
mot
pour
"prêcheur".
Si
tel
était
le
cas,
John
Newton
n'aurait
pas
pu
être
chrétien.
Il
était
un
négrier
et
était
responsable
de
beaucoup
de
douleur
et
de
tristesse.
Un
jour,
il
a
littéralement
reçu
un
coup
à
la
tête
et
dans
un
éclair
a
vu
ce
que
la
foi
signifiait
vraiment :
la
grâce.
Puis
il
a
écrit
Grâce
étonnante.
Amazing
Grace
how
sweet
the
sound
Grâce
étonnante,
combien
ton
son
est
doux
That
saved
a
wretch
like
me
Celui
qui
a
sauvé
une
malheureuse
comme
moi
I
once
was
lost
but
now
I′m
found
J'étais
autrefois
perdue,
mais
maintenant
je
suis
retrouvée
Was
blind
but
now
I
see
J'étais
aveugle,
mais
maintenant
je
vois
Twas
grace
that
taught
my
heart
to
fear
C'est
la
grâce
qui
a
appris
à
mon
cœur
à
craindre
And
grace
my
fears
relieved
Et
la
grâce
qui
a
apaisé
mes
peurs
How
precious
did
that
grace
appear
Combien
cette
grâce
m'a
semblé
précieuse
The
hour
I
first
believed
L'heure
où
j'ai
cru
pour
la
première
fois
Through
many
dangerous
t?
and
s?
À
travers
de
nombreux
dangers
et
des
épreuves
I
have
already
come
Je
suis
déjà
venue
This
grace
has
bought
me
safe
this
far
Cette
grâce
m'a
conduite
en
sécurité
jusqu'ici
And
grace
will
leave
me
home
Et
la
grâce
me
conduira
à
la
maison
When
we've
been
there
ten-thousand
years
Quand
nous
aurons
été
là
dix
mille
ans
Bright
shining
as
the
sun
Brillant
comme
le
soleil
We′ve
no
less
days
to
sing
God's
praise
Nous
n'aurons
pas
moins
de
jours
pour
chanter
les
louanges
de
Dieu
And
when
we've
first
begun
Et
quand
nous
aurons
commencé
Amazing
Grace
how
sweet
the
sound
Grâce
étonnante,
combien
ton
son
est
doux
That
saved
oh
wretch
Celui
qui
a
sauvé,
oh
malheureuse
Like
me
I
once
was
lost
but
now
I′m
found
Comme
moi,
j'étais
autrefois
perdue,
mais
maintenant
je
suis
retrouvée
Was
blind
but
now
I
see
J'étais
aveugle,
mais
maintenant
je
vois
