Grandpa'll tell you a little story.

They call this place Lapland.
As you know, this is where Santa Claus lives

Undecked halls, this seems fishy
Rudolph's running down to Santa's shack
"The elves are gone!! The times are busy!!
"I cannot build the toys with one pair of hands"

Oh my, the empty shelves, they found the hidden
Spirits of last Christmas, "Now I see...
Fuel yer nose, we'll search the city
Those guys will drink the world a dry of Irish things"

"Run, Rudolph run, with bells and whistles
We're searching every bar and guest house"
The Santa's call they'll heed, soon wobble
In a circle round the tilted Christmas tree

"Santa, pretty please,
Won't you let us have more Irish tea for
We'll be fuelled by Christmas Spirits
From this day on 'till the end of times"

"Why you little tea glazed monsters
These toys I see, they're not exactly for children, I believe...
You've gotta be out of your minds
These are toys of a different kind
What would you do with THIS one anyway..."
"Here's what we'll do... NOW!"

Then go, build toys and a fiddle
24 days and nights in the moonlight
You'll work and here is a riddle"

Toys were built and gifts got packed, as usual.
But every now and again you may just get something...
You did not really wish for.

"Hé, pourquoi ne t'assois-tu pas, les enfants.
Grand-père va vous raconter une petite histoire.
Il n'y a pas si longtemps, peut-être même la dernière
Noël, qui peut le dire.
L'histoire suivante s'est déroulée dans le Grand Nord.
Dans un endroit magnifique où dansent les aurores boréales
Dans le ciel hivernal et des millions d'étoiles avec
La lune souriante supervise cette pièce magique.
Ils appellent cet endroit la Laponie.
Comme tu le sais, c'est là que vit le Père Noël
Avec Mme Noël et d'innombrables lutins
Et d'autres créatures.
D'habitude, les choses se passent comme prévu, mais un jour,
D'une manière ou d'une autre, l'un des lutins a trouvé le secret du Père Noël
Cabane remplie d'esprits de Noël...
Un événement qui a failli ruiner Noël."

Halls non décorés, cela semble louche
Rudolph court à la cabane du Père Noël
"Les lutins sont partis !! Les temps sont chargés !!
"Je ne peux pas construire les jouets avec une seule paire de mains"

Oh mon Dieu, les étagères vides, ils ont trouvé le caché
Esprit du dernier Noël, "Maintenant, je vois...
Nourris ton nez, nous allons fouiller la ville
Ces types vont boire le monde à sec de choses irlandaises"

L'appel du Père Noël, ils vont y répondre, bientôt vaciller

"Pourquoi vous, petits monstres glacés au thé
Ces jouets que je vois, ils ne sont pas vraiment pour les enfants, je crois...

Ce sont des jouets d'un autre genre
Que ferais-tu avec CELUI-CI de toute façon..."
"Voici ce que nous allons faire... MAINTENANT !"

"Défaire le désordre, retournez dans la file maintenant
Puis allez, construisez des jouets et un violon
24 jours et nuits au clair de lune
Vous allez travailler et voici une énigme"

Les jouets ont été construits et les cadeaux ont été emballés, comme d'habitude.
