Si accontentavano di illuminare
Il buio delle sale
Che non riuscivano a dimenticare...
Anche noi alziamo spesso il gomito
Rifugiati dentro ad un'osteria
Per una strana voglia di nasconderci
E rimeditare la filosofia,
E dentro al cielo vediamo risplendere
Un idolo d'oro al posto del sole
Un nuovo dio che non riusciamo a comprendere
Nè a descrivere con le parole,
Un dio moderno che tutti adorano
E che regala vuoti di memoria,
Un dio impaziente e annoiato,
Che sembra stanco della nostra storia...
Anche noi abitiamo in un cinema
E siamo in bilico ad ogni minuto
Tra la gloria, il successo, un amore frenetico
E il ricordo del cinema muto,

The taverns filled up
With old actors not very photogenic

Cursed, showing their butts...
At the end of the silent cinema
On the benches of the grand boulevards,
Those old actors cursed at the too strong sun
That has the power to burn their wings,
And they lost themselves in academic speeches
On history and its eagle eye,
To understand if it's true that who loses is wrong
And that who wins is always right,
Then at evening dressed as masks,
They were content to light up
The darkness of the halls
That they could not forget...
We too often raise our elbows
Seeking refuge inside a tavern
For a strange desire to hide ourselves
And to meditate on philosophy,
And in the sky we see shining
An idol of gold in place of the sun
A new god that we can't understand
Or describe with words,
A modern god that everyone worships

An impatient and bored god,
Who seems tired of our story...
We too live in a cinema

Crowds heated with joy
For the future sci-fi world
And its mechanism that destroys boredom,
