Reden

Jeden Abend halt' ich Reden
Ganz alleine unter den Reseden
Jeden Morgen mach' ich Knickse
Dem Herrn Chef und seiner neuen Schickse!

Jeden Abend tief im Zimmer
Revoltier' ich bei der Lampe Schimmer
Und am Tag bin ich phlegmatisch
Und find' alles wieder Demokratisch!

Aber einmal kommt es umgekehrt
Ich knicks' wenn ich mich selber treff'
Schrei bis sich mein Chef zum Teufel schert –
Dann nehm' ich mir seine Geliebte ins
Bett und dann bin ich mein eigener Chef!

Aber noch ist nicht die Zeit da
Meine Knickse gehen immer weiter
Und ich red' nur Abends scharf –
Weil's der Chef nicht wissen darf!

Nun ich hab' einen Sohn
Und der sagte mir schon:
"Das du redest macht niemand Beschwerden!
Du liegst auf der Lauer
Und die Suppe wird sauer
Denn fett kann sie so ja nicht werden!
Du musst dich bequemen
Und was unternehmen
Sonst kriegst du eins hinter die Löffeln!
Warum sollst du rackern
Und schwitzen und ackern
Und der Chef, weil er Chef ist, soll scheffeln?"

Darauf sag ich mein Kind:
"Das geht nicht so geschwind
Denn der Mensch ist bekanntlich sehr bös'!
Du wirst mich nicht verleiten
Zu Taten zu schreiten –
Das ich rede macht mich schon nervös!"

Doch ich rede zu den Bäumen
Von Vergangenheits- und Zukunftsträumen
Ich lass' mich nicht unterdrücken
Ich droh' allen – hinter ihren Rücken
Schließe Abends Schloss und Riegel
Rede lang und laut mit meinem Spiegel
Der ist gut als Mitarbeiter –
Er hört zu und sagt es niemand weiter!

Jeder glaubt das ich zufrieden sei
Mit Kindergeld, mit Stundenlohn
Doch ich denke nur an Meuterei –
Vendetta, Gerechtigkeit, Streik und Krawalle Proteste und Revolution!

Unzensiert und ungestört –
Ich bin froh das man's nicht hört!

Speeches

Every night I give speeches
All alone among the mignonette
Every morning I do curtsies
To the boss and his new chick!

Every night deep in the room
I revolt by the lamp's glimmer
And during the day I am phlegmatic
And find everything Democratic again!

But one day it will be the other way around
I'll bow when I meet myself
Scream until my boss goes to hell -
Then I'll take his mistress to bed
And then I will be my own boss!

But the time has not yet come
My curtsies go on and on
And I only speak sharply in the evenings -
Because the boss mustn't know!

Now I have a son
And he said to me:
"No one complains that you talk!
You lie in wait
And the soup goes sour
Because it can't get fat that way!
You must make yourself comfortable
And do something
Otherwise you'll get one behind the ears!
Why should you toil
And sweat and drudge
And the boss, because he's the boss, should make money?"

To that I say my child:
"It's not that quick
Because man is known to be very evil!
You will not tempt me
To take action -
The fact that I am talking makes me nervous!"

But I talk to the trees
Of past and future dreams
I won't let myself be oppressed
I threaten everyone - behind their backs
Lock the door and bars in the evening
Talk long and loud to my mirror
He's good as a collaborator -
He listens and doesn't tell anyone!

Everyone thinks that I am satisfied
With child benefits, with hourly wages
But all I think about is mutiny -
Revenge, justice, strikes and riots Protests and revolution!

Every night I give speeches
All alone among the mignonette
Uncensored and undisturbed -
I'm glad they don't hear it!
