मकर पचीसी, माया कारनदेश विदेश गयो.

स बरस की, जब मति उपजी.
नित नित, लोभ नयो.
माया जोरी, लाख करोरीअजहु न प्रीत भयो.
वृद्ध भयो.
तब, आलस उपजी.
कफ नित, कंठ रह्यो.
संगति कबहूं, नाही कीन्हीबिरथा जनम लियो.
ये संसार मतलब का, लोभीझूठा, ठाठ रच्यो.
कहत कबी.
र समछ मन मूरखतू क्यों भूल गयो.

Your life has passed by in just chatter,
my dear.
You've never uttered the name of Ram,
nor have you uttered the name of Krishna.
Oh,
you were innocent for five years,
dear brother.
Now,
you've turned twenty.
At the age of twenty-five, you went abroad for the sake of maya.
Oh,
when you were thirty, your mind became clear.
Day after day, you've accumulated greed.
Despite amassing millions and billions in wealth, you still haven't gained true love.
You've grown old,
and now you've become lazy.
Your throat is always filled with phlegm.
You've never kept good company, and now you've wasted your life.
This world is full of selfish people who only care about material wealth.
