When I walked in, the man behind the register

Can I help you find somethin', friend?"
I didn't answer, I just stood there

The house was dark when I went in
Pat was lyin' awake in bed
She hit the light, I was standin' in the doorway

I felt her arms around me

Не знаю, как долго сидел у гаража,
Рубашку испачкал в пот.
Дом тёмный, прокрался неслышно,
Пэт ворочалась без сна.
Включила свет: "Стоишь на пороге..."
"Волновалась? Что задержался?"
Руки её согрели дрожь,
Сказала: "Джимми, как ждала!"

Тюрьма Ричфилд на холме стоит,
Графства кончается медный вал.
Свисток гудит, когда кто сдался,
Иль кто на волю попал.
Дождь стучал, и в обнимку мы лежали,
