لنا مكان مؤنسُ حيث المروج سندس
في مُرتمى أشجاره يهيم صحوٌ مُشْمِس
جئناه واللحن سكيبٌ والشذى مُكدّس
بُحنا فلا الورد حكى ولا شكانا النرجس
مكانُنا المرفرفُ ظلالُ حبٍّ تُورف
أُغرودةُ الكنارِ في أسْحَارِهِ تطوَّف
أطايب الحلم عناقيدٌ هناك تقطف
زُرْناهُ رَوَّيْنا حَنَايَاهُ ولا مَنْ يعرف
وحين راح البلبلُ على الندى يغتسل
أحسستُ أنّي في ذِراعَيْ لحنهِ تَوَسُّل
جوانحُ البلبلِ في الشمس ارتعاشٌ يذهل
ونحن شوقٌ متعبٌ على الثرى يبتَهِل
هنا المكانُ سُنْدُسُ وكلّ غصنٍ يؤنس
وللهوى حكايةٌ عند الغدير تُهْمَس
حكايةٌ عطريّةٌ ظلالها لا تُلْمَس
يعرفها المكان عَنَّا والخجولُ النرجس

Meadow of Sundus

We have a comforting place, where meadows are of Sundus,
In the embrace of its trees, a sunny calm roams.
We came to it, the melody silent, and the fragrance abundant,
We confided, but neither the rose spoke nor the narcissus complained.
Our place, the one with towering shades of love,
The canary's warble roams in its dawns.
The sweetest dreams are clusters of grapes there to be picked,
We visited it, quenched our yearning, and no one knows.
And when the nightingale went to bathe in the dew,
I felt myself surrendering in the arms of its melody.
The nightingale's heart trembles in the sun, mesmerizing,
And we are a weary longing, lamenting on the earth.
Here is the place, Sundus, and every branch comforts,
And for love, there's a story whispered by the streamlet.
A fragrant story, its shadows untouched,
The place knows it about us, and the shy narcissus.
