ما دلشدگان خسرو شيرين پناهيم
ما كشته ي آن مهرخ خورشيد كلاهيم
ما از دو جهان غير تو اي عشق نخواهيم
صد شور نهان با ما،تاب و تب جان با ما
در اين سر بي سامان،غمهاي جهان با ما
با ساز و ني، با جام مي، با ياد وي
شوري دگر اندازيم، در ميكده ي جان
جمع مستان غزل خوانيم
همه مستان سر اندازيم، سر افرازيم
جز اين هنر ندانيم، كه هر چه مي توانيم
غم از دلها بر اندازيم ، بر اندازيم...

Tasnif-e Delshodegan (Enchantment of the Hearts)

We, the lovers of the sweet Khusrow and Shirin sanctuary,
We are slain by the sun-crowned moon-faced one.
We desire none in both worlds but You, O Love.
A hundred hidden passions with us, the fever and thrill of life within us.
In this chaotic world, the sorrows of the world are ours.
With music and flute, with a goblet of wine, with the memory of Him,
We create another ecstasy in the tavern of the heart.
We sing the songs of the drunkards.
All the drunkards throwing their heads back, tossing their heads up high.
We know no art but this, that with all our might,
We throw sorrow from our hearts, we throw it out...
