کاشکی ديوانه ی ديوانه بودم
کاشکی در رندی اين مرد رندان
چاره گر با چاره ای رندانه بودم
کاشکی ديوانه بودم ، تا دلم غمگين نمی شد
يا چنين بر دوش صبرم ، بارغم سنگين نمی شد
من جهانی می پسندم ، خالی از هر ناروايی
دوست دارم زندگی را با صفای بی ريايی

If only I were devoid of all intellectual cares
If only I were a madman, in love with madness
If only I were as ingenious as these sly old men
And wielded a cure for my sorrows
If only I were mad, my heart would not ache
Or perhaps my patience could bear this heavy burden of grief
I desire a world free from all injustice
I long for a life of genuine kindness
