بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَابِ
الْفِيلِ (1) Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi ashaabil feel
Have you not considered, [O Muhammad],
How your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant?
أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي
تَضْلِيلٍ (2) Alam yaj'al kai dahum fee tad leel
Did He not make their plan into misguidance?
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا
أَبَابِيلَ (3) Wa arsala 'alaihim tairan abaabeel
And He sent against them birds in flocks,
تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
(4) Tar meehim bi hi jaaratim min sij jeel
Striking them with stones of hard clay,
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَأْكُولٍ (5) Faja 'alahum ka'asfim m'akool
And He made them like eaten straw.

Au nom d'Allah, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux
N'as-tu pas vu ce que ton Seigneur a fait à ses amis
Éléphant (1) Alam tara kaifa FA'ala rabbuka bi sensation d'achaïe
N'as-tu pas considéré, [Ô Muhammad],
Comment votre Seigneur a-t-il traité les compagnons de l'éléphant?
أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِي
تَضللييل ((2) Alam yaj'al kaï dahoum est un peu le frère
N'a-t-Il pas fait de leur plan un égarement?
Et envoie-leur un oiseau
Ababeel (3) Était arsala ' alaihim taïran ababeel
Et Il envoya contre eux des oiseaux en troupeaux,
تَرْمِيهِمْ بِحِجَارَةٍ مِنْ سِجِّيلٍ
(4) Tar meehim bi hi jaaratim min sij jeel
Striking them with stones of hard clay,
Alors il les fit comme une tempête mangée (5) Faja ' alahum ka'asfim m'akool
Et Il les rendit semblables à de la paille mangée.
