Наверх, вы, товарищи, все по местам!
Последний парад наступает!
Врагу не сдаётся наш гордый Варяг,
Пощады никто не желает!
Все вымпелы вьются, и цепи гремят,
Наверх якоря подымают.
Готовые к бою орудия в ряд
На солнце зловеще сверкают.
От пристани верной мы в битву уйдем,
Навстречу грозящей нам смерти,
За Родину в море открытом умрём,
Где ждут желтолицые черти!
Свистит, и гремит, и грохочет кругом.
Гром пушек, шипение снарядов,
И стал наш бесстрашный и гордый Варяг
Подобен кромешному аду!
В предсмертных мученьях трепещут тела,
Гром пушек, и шум, и стенанья,
И судно охвачено морем огня, —
Настали минуты прощанья.
Прощайте, товарищи! С Богом, ура!
Кипящее море под нами!
Не думали, братцы, мы с вами вчера,
Что нынче умрем под волнами!
Не скажет ни камень, ни крест, где легли
Во славу мы русского флага,
Лишь волны морские прославят вдали
Геройскую гибель Варяга!

The Varangian

Up, comrades, all to your places!

Our proud Varangian will not surrender to the enemy,

And our fearless and proud Varangian became
Like a perfect hell!

The roar of cannons, and noise, and groans,
And the ship is engulfed by a sea of fire, —
The minutes of farewell have come.
Farewell, comrades! With God, hurrah!
The boiling sea beneath us!
We didn't think, brothers, yesterday,
That today we would die under the waves!
Neither stone nor cross will tell where we fell
For the glory of the Russian flag,
Only the sea waves will glorify in the distance
The heroic death of the Varangian!
