В лесу родилась ёлочка,
В лесу она росла.
Зимой и летом стройная,
Зелёная была.

Трусишка зайка серенький

Порою волк, сердитый волк,

Лошадка мохноногая
Торопится, бежит.
Везёт лошадка дровенки
А в дровнях мужичок
Срубил он нашу ёлочку
Под самый корешок.
Теперь она, нарядная,
На праздник к нам пришла,
И много, много радости
Детишкам принесла.

Hush! Snow in the forest so dense

A shaggy little horse
Is galloping, running in haste.
The little horse is pulling a sled
And in the sled a peasant.
He cut down our little Christmas tree
Right down to the very roots.
Now, all dressed up,
It has come to us for the festival,
