This floating life is nothing more than this.
Past lives, present lives, all are filled with anxiety and loss.
When will this cycle of reincarnation end?
I hear people say that in this world,
Compared to life and death, everything else is trivial.
If that is true, I wish to cast aside life and death,
And only ask to be free of these worldly concerns.
In this floating life, what do we cling to: love or hate?
Or the songs in our ears, the lanterns in the foggy night?
