Having lived a life I've lived in seeing the other side
Not being afraid to attack what was in front of me has made me happy
That made me very happy
Basically I just don't walk around

You may get two hours of sleep and they beat the shit of you
And find everything wrong with your mentality
And then they start hell week and that's the beauty of it
For me I'm not some not some nasty God given guy you know
I don't have a great bit of talent in anything
So what got me through horrible times was the dark side

Ich bin der glücklichste Mann auf diesem Planeten.
Manche Leute mögen das vielleicht so auffassen,
und wie so viele Menschen leben wir in einer sehr geschwächten Gesellschaft.
Wenn sie also einen Typen wie mich hören, der an alte Zeiten erinnert,
aus den alten Tagen von Garanimals,
denken sie oft, dieser Typ ist einfach was auch immer. Wenn du also denkst,
ich sei ein unglücklicher Typ, liegst du falsch.
Das Leben, das ich gelebt habe, und die andere Seite gesehen zu haben,
keine Angst zu haben, das anzugreifen, was vor mir lag, hat mich glücklich gemacht.
Das hat mich sehr glücklich gemacht.
Im Grunde laufe ich einfach nicht herum
mit einem verdammten Lächeln im Gesicht, den ganzen Tag.

Was die dunkle Seite ist, ist, dass wir alle eine Keksdose haben

Es läuft einfach nicht gut.
Und in der Höllenwoche, was sie in der Höllenwoche machen,
denn hier bin ich wirklich auf die dunkle Seite gegangen,
ist, dass sie die Höllenwoche entwerfen,
um deine Schwächen zu finden.
Und das machen sie wirklich gut.
Es sind 130 Stunden ununterbrochenes Training.

Was mich also durch schreckliche Zeiten gebracht hat, war die dunkle Seite.
Mein Name ist David Goggins, ich habe Goggins erschaffen.
Goggins ist der Typ, der alles aushalten kann, was du ihm vorsetzt, meine Süße.

Ich habe eine Art, an einen Ort zu gehen, wie ich es in diesem Rennen getan habe,
wo all der Schmerz und das Leid, das sie mir auferlegt haben,
in der Höllenwoche,
Ich werde diesen Schmerz und dieses Leid umkehren und ich werde dir deine Seele nehmen.
Also jeder Ausbilder, der mich durch BUDS gebracht hat,
mein Job, was mich antrieb, war, dass ich wollte, dass du in dieser Nacht nach Hause gehst,
nachdem du mich windelweich geschlagen hast und ich dir ins Gesicht gelächelt habe.
Ich wollte, dass du dich schlechter fühlst als ich.
Und du gingst nach Hause in ein schönes warmes Bett,
mit deiner Frau oder deinen Kindern,
zu einem netten Essen.
Und ich war immer noch da draußen in der Klemme,
und litt für weitere 100 Stunden.
Ich möchte, dass du an mich denkst, in dem Wissen, dass ich mich wohl fühle,
sehr unbequem zu sein, und ich möchte, dass du darüber nachdenkst,
als du durch die verdammte Höllenwoche gegangen bist,
wie unbequem du dich gefühlt hast und wie sehr du aufgeben wolltest.
Wissend, dass ich nicht so denke, meine Süße.
Die dunkle Seite ist also etwas, das ich entworfen habe. Es ist ein böser Ort.
Ich kann dorthin gehen, wo mich nur sehr wenige Dinge verletzen können.
