In the arena the battle begins

They come back to feel the smack from the wire and the wood,

Crushed against the barricades
And worked up to a rage
How hot it gets, and how the leather sweats,
As they reach to claw the stage

In an hour or two,
The battle will be done
No one leaving in defeat
Both sides having won
Blinded by the silence calling them back home

По улице ползёт кожаная змея, скользя на войну,
Чтоб биться в сражении с парнями на помосте,
Против учеников, прижатых спиной к стене,
Им всё равно — они выдержат удар,
Они здесь, чтоб выложиться в прах!

На арене начинается бой,
Глаза в глаза, лицом к лицу...

Они возвращаются, чтоб ощутить удар от проволоки и дерева,
Прими тот шлепок, не терпи чертову проволоку и дерево.

Прижаты к барьерам,
И взвинчены до ярости,
Как жарко тут, как пот стекает с кожи,
Когда они тянутся, чтоб вцепиться в сцену.

Через час или два
Битва завершится,
Никто не уйдёт побеждённым,
Обе стороны победят,
Ослеплённые зовом тишины, что манит их домой.
