I wrote the mixtape in the middle of a breakup.
I had been sort of jotting down all these songs in my journal
That had, you know, connected me to this person
And that made me think of them
And I hadn′t actually made the mixtape yet.
But as I was seeing these songs collect
I decided, what, why don't I write a song about this mixtape?
And it ended up kind of coming into popularity
Or at least coming into consciousness for a lot of people
Thanks to the TV show One Tree Hill.
