I met a Cosmic Cowboy and He′s ridin the stary range.
He's a supernatural plowboy.
He′s dressed up kind of strange.
At first you know, I didn't even see him;
Hey, I was out there on the run.
But that old hat that He's wearin,
Its shinin brighter than the sun.
And when my eyes adjusted,
To the flashin of his smile;
Oh, I saw his invitation. He said, "Come on, we′ll go ridin for awhile."
And you know we rode along together,
For more than half a day.
Right through the changin weather; the sky was all turning gray.
And the chilly winds were blowin, and the cold was cutting deep.
Then it started snowing,
The trail was gettin steep.
I was just about to turn around,
And head on back down the way we came.
Somehow without a sound,
I heard Him call my name.
Lookin up, I saw we was high up on this ridge.
He took me by my hand;
Lead me right over to the edge.
I was so scared I couldn′t find a single word to say.
I mean, there's 10, 000 feet of empty air,
And it′s just about an inch away.
But a million miles was out beyond the waving of his hand.
And I was looking through His eyes, right in through another land.
He said; "This is my Fathers ranch, just as far as you can see.
He made it out of nothing; every branch, every tree.
The stars, and the mountians, the rivers, the streams;
The oceans and the fountains, and the valley of your dreams.
Thats right, I know that place you long to be.
Truth is, I'm the only door,
You′re going to have to pass right through me.
Bendin back I tipped my hat
So I could look Him in the eye.
He just smiled and gave me confidence. He said; "Go ahead and try."
Well, it was now or never, and I knew I had to start.
So I took that step and I went fallin, straight in through His heart.
The first thing that I noticed, coming out the other side;
All my fears had vanished. Jesus taught me how to fly!

Cosmic Cowboy

J'ai rencontré un Cowboy Cosmique et il chevauche les plaines étoilées.
C'est un laboureur surnaturel.
Il est habillé d'une manière étrange.
Au début, tu sais, je ne l'ai même pas vu ;
Hé, j'étais là-bas, en fuite.
Mais ce vieux chapeau qu'il porte,
Il brille plus fort que le soleil.
Et quand mes yeux se sont adaptés,
A l'éclat de son sourire ;
Oh, j'ai vu son invitation. Il a dit, "Viens, on va rouler un peu."
Et tu sais, on a roulé ensemble,
Pendant plus de la moitié d'une journée.
Tout au long du temps changeant ; le ciel devenait gris.
Et les vents glacés soufflaient, et le froid était profond.
Puis il a commencé à neiger,
Le sentier devenait raide.
J'étais sur le point de faire demi-tour,
Et de retourner par où on était venus.
D'une manière ou d'une autre, sans un son,
Je l'ai entendu m'appeler.
En levant les yeux, j'ai vu qu'on était en haut de cette crête.
Il m'a pris la main ;
Il m'a emmené tout droit au bord.
J'étais tellement effrayé que je n'ai pas trouvé un seul mot à dire.
Je veux dire, il y a 10 000 pieds de vide,
Et c'est à environ un pouce de distance.
Mais un million de miles étaient au-delà du mouvement de sa main.
Et je regardais à travers ses yeux, droit à travers une autre terre.
Il a dit ; "C'est le ranch de mon Père, aussi loin que tu puisses voir.
Il l'a fait de rien ; chaque branche, chaque arbre.
Les étoiles, et les montagnes, les rivières, les ruisseaux ;
Les océans et les fontaines, et la vallée de tes rêves.
C'est vrai, je connais cet endroit où tu aspires à être.
La vérité est que je suis la seule porte,
Tu vas devoir me traverser.
En me penchant en arrière, j'ai incliné mon chapeau
Pour pouvoir le regarder dans les yeux.
Il a juste souri et m'a donné confiance. Il a dit ; "Vas-y, essaie."
Eh bien, c'était maintenant ou jamais, et je savais que je devais commencer.
Alors j'ai fait ce pas et je suis tombé, droit au cœur de son cœur.
La première chose que j'ai remarquée, en sortant de l'autre côté ;
Toutes mes peurs avaient disparu. Jésus m'a appris à voler !
