Now, let's go back to Abraham, mobbing with his son Isaac
Faith isn't faith until it's tested, so, God tries him
Said, "I know how much you love your son, go and sacrifice him"
So Ab walks him up the mountain, straps him down and ties him
He doesn't really understand it, but he has faith
He knows that God's good, so, as commanded, he's grabbing his blade
As he goes to stab him, the Lord yells, "Wait!"
He looks over, and God sent a lamb in his place

So, if sin is how you work, then death should be the check
There can be no forgiveness without the shedding of blood
The penalty must be paid if God is a righteous judge
We say, "Just let it slide", but, if someone killed your cousin
Would you call that judge righteous if his killer goes unpunished?
Or would you call him crooked? And we know the Lord ain't that
So, there's a death penalty, and someone has to pay that
The moment that you sin, your life has been indebted
And His mercy is the only reason He ain't yet collected
So, that's why they would sacrifice lambs in their places
But it didn't clear the debt, it was just a partial payment

Now, we gon' take a recap and see the Lord working
Nothing was an accident, it all has a purpose
Now, back to the beginning at the fall
Man sins, tries to fix it on his own, God covers him with skins
But, it never says what animal he's getting it from
All we know is, to cover man, he shed innocent blood
Now, remember Cain and Abel? Cain's offer was rejected?
You ever wonder why Abel's offer was accepted?
All I know is Cain offered the work of his hands
Abel tended the sheep, so, he must have offered a lamb

Now, look at Abraham and Isaac, are you seeing it now?
A ram in the bush sent to take the place of his child
'Cause Abraham had faith enough to give up his son

Cette petite graine de doute a changé sa perception.

Dieu lui a tout donné, mais il est focalisé sur cet arbre.
Le péché est là, dans sa peur, il s'est couvert et caché.
Il s'est couvert de feuilles, Dieu l'a couvert de peaux.

Garde ça en tête, avançons rapidement jusqu'à Abel et Caïn.
Deux frères dans le même champ, chacun dans son rôle.
Tu vois, Caïn s'occupait du sol, Abel s'occupait des moutons.
Les deux ont fait une offrande à Dieu, mais celle de Caïn a été rejetée.
Maintenant, mets ça de côté, allons à la Pâque en Égypte.
Quand Dieu entend les cris de son peuple opprimé,
Israël est réduit en esclavage, Pharaon refuse de les laisser partir.
Moïse lui dit que Dieu l'a ordonné, mais il ne veut toujours pas les libérer.
Alors, Dieu dit à Moïse : "Voici le plan, sois attentif.
Dis à mon peuple qu'ils auront besoin d'un agneau sans défaut.
Un jour, tu comprendras, mais pour l'instant, contente-toi de le tuer.
Ramène-le à la maison, etendu son sang sur les montants de la porte d'entrée.
Tu vois, Israël est mon premier-né, et Israël est captif.
S'il ne laisse pas partir mon fils, le sien ne survivra pas.
Le châtiment est la mort, et je viens pour le paiement.
Ceux qui seront couverts de ce sang seront les seuls à échapper."

Maintenant, revenons à Abraham, se déplaçant avec son fils Isaac.
La foi n'est pas la foi tant qu'elle n'est pas testée, alors Dieu le met à l'épreuve.
Il a dit : "Je sais combien tu aimes ton fils, va et sacrifie-le."
Alors Abraham le fait monter sur la montagne, l'attache et le ligote.
Il ne comprend pas vraiment, mais il a la foi.
Il sait que Dieu est bon, alors, comme il lui est commandé, il saisit sa lame.
Alors qu'il s'apprête à le poignarder, le Seigneur crie : "Attends !".
Il regarde autour de lui, et Dieu a envoyé un agneau à sa place.

Faisons une petite pause avant d'en venir à Jésus.
Parce que rien de tout cela n'aura de sens tant que tu ne comprendras pas pourquoi nous avons besoin de lui.
La Parole de Dieu dit : "Le salaire du péché, c'est la mort".
Donc, si le péché est ton travail, alors la mort devrait être le chèque.
Il ne peut y avoir de pardon sans effusion de sang.
La sanction doit être payée si Dieu est un juste juge.
On dit : "Laisse couler", mais si quelqu'un tuait ton cousin,
Appellerais-tu ce juge juste si son meurtrier restait impuni ?
Ou le considérerais-tu comme corrompu ? Et nous savons que le Seigneur n'est pas comme ça.
Donc, il y a une peine de mort, et quelqu'un doit la payer.
Dès que tu pèches, ta vie est endettée.
Et sa miséricorde est la seule raison pour laquelle il ne l'a pas encore réclamée.
C'est pourquoi ils sacrifiaient des agneaux à leur place.
Mais cela n'effaçait pas la dette, ce n'était qu'un paiement partiel.

Maintenant, on va faire un récapitulatif et voir le Seigneur à l'œuvre.
Rien n'était un accident, tout a un but.
Revenons au commencement, à la chute.
L'homme pèche, essaie de se racheter tout seul, Dieu le couvre de peaux.
Mais il n'est jamais précisé de quel animal il les obtient.
Tout ce que nous savons, c'est que pour couvrir l'homme, il a versé le sang innocent.
Tu te souviens de Caïn et Abel ? L'offrande de Caïn a été rejetée ?
Tu ne t'es jamais demandé pourquoi l'offrande d'Abel a été acceptée ?
Tout ce que je sais, c'est que Caïn a offert le fruit de ses mains.
Abel s'occupait des moutons, il doit donc avoir offert un agneau.

Maintenant, regarde Abraham et Isaac, tu vois maintenant ?
Un bélier dans le buisson envoyé pour prendre la place de son enfant.
Parce qu'Abraham avait suffisamment la foi pour renoncer à son fils.
Dieu ferait de même plus tard pour que le pardon vienne.
Retour à la Pâque, ah, revoilà cet agneau.
Le sang innocent de l'agneau couvre à nouveau l'homme.
Tu ne vois pas le schéma, tu ne comprends pas ce que cela signifie ?
Alors tout devient clair quand Jésus entre en scène.

"Je suis l'Alpha et l'Oméga, le commencement et la fin.
Je suis l'Agneau sans défaut sacrifié pour ton péché.
L'Agneau de Dieu, sans péché, les petits enfants comprennent.
Tu ne peux pas y arriver par toi-même, c'est moi qui couvre l'homme.
C'est moi qui ai pris ta place quand la mort a levé la main.
Je t'ai donné la justice par la foi.
C'est toi qui as enfreint la loi, mais c'est moi qu'il a envoyé payer.
J'ai donné ma vie pour ceux qui me haïssent.
Je suis allé tranquillement, et je n'ai même pas essayé de me défendre.
Je suis l'offrande qu'il accepte quand tes œuvres sont rejetées.
C'est moi qui plaide ta cause devant le juge du Ciel.
Je savais que tu étais coupable, mais je t'aimais suffisamment pour purger ta peine.
Le salaire du péché, c'est la mort, je suis mort pour effacer ton casier.
Tu vois, je suis la Pâque, la colère de Dieu attend.
Toute vie qui n'est pas couverte par le sang sera prise.
Je suis le chemin, la vérité, la vie, et je le serai toujours.
