I am so excited to be talking to Carly 'cause it's like talking to a girlfriend
Just, you know, getting all the in and outs
That I can't get in anywhere else about this album
And the next song is "Feel Somethin'"

And the first thing I noticed about this song is the amount of words
That you're cramming into this verses
Was this one a difficult one to sing?
Because it's not your traditional sing song steady rhythm

So if you know anything about Natalie Hemby
You know that she is just a phrasing queen
And she knows, she just knows how to make things work
And I, if you can tell from everything else in my album
Come from a very country, bluegrass background
Where I, my drummer'll tell you, I sing way behind the beat
And they kinda sometimes have to push me and go "C'mon, c'mon, catch up"

And I felt like this song is just from a phrasing stand point
Was a great challenge for me (yeah) to kinda step out of my comfort zone
And do something that maybe is a little bit more difficult
And, and really challenge for myself
And I played this song for my mom when it was just the Natalie demo
And I remember her reaction
And she was like, "I know what this feels like"

And just everybody I've ever played this for, it's kinda like what you said earlier
Uhm, the opposite, I think you said the opposite of love-
(Yeah, the opposite of love isn't hate, it's difference)
Yeah, and to have somebody that you love, not give you anything back at all
We all wanna see whether it's fighting, crying, tears, laughter
You want emotion out of somebody and the worst thing is
You know there is a line and it says
"When did you stop tryin'? When did I become so comatose?"
And it's like "Ah, it's awful"

Yeah, that was a powerful, powerful line
Well and that, the thing for people who haven't heard the song
We're gonna play it but I mean it's basically about a couple
From what I, it sounded to me like they've been together a while

And they, there's just almost not even a pulse in the relationship (yeah)
Because they've just gotten so complacent, and
So many relationships are guilty of that
Whether it's just like you stop trying to impress them
You stop trying to care about how their day was
You're just, going through the motions
You could almost set a clock to boredom of (yeah)
What's happening in the relationship, and
I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna relate to this one

и я помню ее реакцию,

И у всех, кому я давала ее послушать, была такая же реакция, как ты сказал ранее,
гм, обратное, я думаю, ты сказал, что обратное любви -
(Да, противоположность любви - не ненависть, а равнодушие.)
Да, и когда кто-то, кого ты любишь, совсем ничего не дает тебе взамен.
Мы все хотим видеть, будь то ссоры, плач, слезы, смех,
ты ждешь от кого-то эмоций, а самое худшее - это
Ты знаешь, там есть такая строчка:
"Когда ты перестал стараться? Когда я стала такой безразличной?"
И это как "Ах, это ужасно".

Да, это сильная, очень сильная строка.
Ну и для тех, кто не слышал песню,
мы сейчас ее поставим, но я имею в виду, что она о паре,
насколько я поняла, они уже давно вместе,

и у них, в их отношениях почти не ощущается пульса (да),
потому что они просто стали такими самодовольными, и
очень многие отношения страдают от этого,
будь то то, что ты перестаешь пытаться впечатлить их,
перестаешь интересоваться, как прошел их день,
ты просто плывешь по течению,
можно почти по часам сверять скуку в (да)
том, что происходит в отношениях, и
у меня такое чувство, что многие люди найдут в этом отклик.
