I land next to your perch
By the frozen banks
Ancient shadows of the earth
Cross the evening

The empty valley floor
Ice and wind
The howling night

Tracks left in the snow
We leave before the storm
And rest in the caves
Until the morning

Feathers scattered 'round
A distant call
The passage underground
Where it's warming

Water cutting stone
An impossible voice
From within the dark
Touch the morning

Hours on the earth
The whispering rock
And empty wind and time
