I wrote this song about 4 years ago
And I remember that a friend of mine sat down with me
And told me that he had a crush on this girl
That he'd known her for a long time
And he didn't know how to tell her he liked her
And I thought it was a really good concept for a song
And in a way, I felt really connected
Because I knew that a lot of people
Go through the same thing
And to me, it seemed like a perfect song concept
So I decided to make it my first song on the album
To start with love, and that's how it came to be
