Silent Sunlight

In the name of God, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.
By the glorious morning light and by the night when it is still,
Your guardian Lord has not forsaken you, nor is he displeased.
And verily the hereafter is better for you than the present.
And soon will your guardian Lord give you that,
Wherewith you will be well pleased.
Did he not find you an orphan and give you shelter?
And he found you wandering and he gave you guidance?
And he found you in need and he made you independent?
Therefore treat not the orphans with harshness,
Nor repulse the petitioner,
And the bounty of your Lord, proclaim!

Silent sunlight, welcome in
There is work I must now begin
All my dreams have blown away
And the children wait to play
They'll soon remember things to do
When the heart is young
And the night is done
And the sky is blue

Morning songbird, sing away
Lend a tune to another day
Bring your wings and choose a roof
Sing a song of love and truth
We'll soon remember if you do
When all things were tall
And our friends were small
And the world was new

Sleepy horses, heave away
Put your backs to the golden hay
Don't ever look behind at the work you've done
For your work has just begun
There'll be the evening in the end
But till that time arrives
You can rest your eyes

Au nom de Dieu, le Tout Miséricordieux, le Très Miséricordieux.
Par la lumière glorieuse du matin et par la nuit quand elle est calme,
Ton Seigneur gardien ne t'a pas abandonné, ni n'est-il mécontent.
Et vraiment l'au-delà est meilleur pour toi que le présent.
Et bientôt ton Seigneur gardien te donnera cela,
Avec quoi tu seras bien content.
Ne t'a-t-il pas trouvé orphelin et t'a-t-il donné un abri ?
Et il t'a trouvé errant et il t'a guidé ?
Et il t'a trouvé dans le besoin et il t'a rendu indépendant ?
Par conséquent, ne traite pas les orphelins avec dureté,
Ni ne repousse le suppliant,
Et la générosité de ton Seigneur, proclame-la !

Il y a du travail que je dois maintenant commencer
Tous mes rêves se sont envolés
Et les enfants attendent de jouer
Ils se souviendront bientôt de choses à faire
Quand le cœur est jeune
Et la nuit est finie
Et le ciel est bleu

Prête un air à un autre jour
Apporte tes ailes et choisis un toit
