I left there to early for my first semester in school

I told my teachers that I was living in sin

Took a summer and spent three hundred dollars on tapes and books and learned from these biblical scholars

Après le concert de platine que j'ai fait avec Cross Movement,
J'ai dit au revoir parce que je devais retourner à Saint-Louis.
Je suis parti tôt pour mon premier semestre à l'école.
J'ai été exposé à tellement de vérité que j'ai dû choisir
Entre ce que j'avais appris et ce qu'on m'avait appris à faire.
Dans mon église, dans ma zone, j'étais tellement confus.
Le premier dimanche matin de retour, ce fut un choc culturel
Regarder le berger et les moutons exploser comme une bouteille de soda
Leurs têtes tremblaient, ils tremblaient à cause de ces sermons de pacotille
Les gens crachaient et criaient, mais personne ne discernait
J'ai quitté le bâtiment
Mes sentiments étaient brisés, je me sentais abandonné
Le seul endroit où j'étais censé venir pour la restauration.
Et adorer un Dieu saint et l'exalter par des louanges
J'ai passé tout le temps de prière à réprimander Satan
J'ai passé tout le sermon à parler d'argent
Alors que je mourais intérieurement et que j'avais spirituellement faim.

J'ai quitté la maison
J'ai emménagé dans les dortoirs
Tellement déprimé que je me suis aventuré dans le porno (c'était une folie)
J'ai senti la déconnexion des bras de Jésus
Alors j'ai cessé d'écrire ces rythmes dans mes paumes pour désobéir au Roi
J'ai dit à mes professeurs que je vivais dans le péché
Et que je ne lirai plus jamais ma Bible et je l'ai jetée dans le placard
Et tout ce qui avait à voir avec Dieu
Marcus T. il allait à l'opposé dans son style de vie
J'ai appelé Phanatic et me suis tourné vers le téléphone
L'annonce disait que pour le ministère, j'irais en prison parce que je n'étais pas en position
De prêcher à qui que ce soit
Parce que je n'étais pas sûr d'être chrétien à ce moment-là, mec
Je séchais les cours
Je traînais avec les masses
Et mes journées étaient noires et grises comme des cendres de cigarettes
Tout ce que je sais, c'est que je voulais mourir
Mais le suicide m'a ramené à Dieu
Puis je l'ai senti me secouer.

Dieu dans sa providence
M'a mis avec des gens pour me guider et m'a sorti de là
Pendant le service religieux
Un gars nommé Paul Wausher
A prêché l'évangile et m'a conduit à l'autel du Seigneur

Et il a appuyé sur le bouton de réinitialisation
J'ai recommencé et je me suis senti comme un soldat de Jéhovah
J'ai appelé mon ancien pasteur et me suis excusé pour mon comportement
À partir de ce jour, nous avons convenu de suivre des chemins différents.
J'ai rencontré cette fille nommée Beth qui m'a parlé d'une église
Je l'ai visitée, je suis devenu membre, et c'était parti
Puis le pasteur m'a donné une pile de livres
Maintenant, je suis de retour avec des raps et des refrains
J'ai pris un été et j'ai dépensé trois cents dollars en cassettes et en livres et j'ai appris de ces érudits bibliques
Maintenant, je suis de retour et je marche dans la lumière
Je vis ma vie
En glorifiant Jésus-Christ
