Érase una vez la princesa Pepa.
No ha salido en otro cuento, que yo sepa,
Le impedía su gran timidez,
Pedir la vez.
Tenía un bufón –la princesa Pepa–
Feo, enano, cabezón, bufón con chepa,
Que la amaba a ella con pasión.
Pobre bufón.
En la noche silenciosa se escuchó un suspiro:
"Quiero a la princesa, nunca, nunca la podré alcanzar,
Lo mejor será, ¡ay de mí!, pegarme un tiro".
Y se lo pegó en el paladar.
Pero era un bufón y aquella pistola
Disparó en vez de una bala una bola
Como un caramelo de limón
Agridulzón.
Y no se mató, ni nada de nada.
Reclinó su cabezón sobre la almohada
Y saboreando se durmió.
Y esto soñó:
La princesa se prestaba a todos sus anhelos,
él era alto y guapo, más o menos un príncipe azul
Que la despojaba de sus siete velos,
Velos, naturalmente, de tul.
Es la ensoñación de quien come opio.
El bufón le daba al opio un uso propio,
Lo mezclaba con miel y limón
Y algo de ron.
Tenía un bufón la princesa Pepa
Que con una bola se quitaba chepa.
Sin la bola ya era otra cuestión,
Atroz cuestión.
