The boy didn't seem to understand just where his mom had gone

C'est terriblement solitaire, grand-père, depuis que papa est parti
Et maman est la seule raison pour laquelle je suis heureux tous les jours
Ne se sentirait-elle pas mieux, grand-père, si je me couchais à ses côtés ?
Le vieil homme se retourne vers lui et lui répond par ces mots.
Maman s'est promenée, ma chérie, là-haut dans le ciel
Le long du ruisseau qui serpente parmi les étoiles là-haut
Et dans la vallée où le soleil rentre chez lui la nuit pour dormir
Maman s'est promenée, ma chérie, elle ne voudrait pas qu'on pleure.
Le garçon ne semblait pas comprendre où sa mère était partie
Il ne pouvait pas réaliser que maintenant elle ne reviendrait pas
Il a vu la pluie sur le visage de son grand-père, il ne savait pas qu'il pleurait
Et bien sûr, il ne pouvait pas entendre les mots que son grand-père disait à l'intérieur.
