I've been lately thinking about my life's time
All the things I've done and how it's been
And I can't help believin' in my own mind

The days they pass so quickly now
The nights are seldom long
And time around me whispers when it's cold
The changes somehow frighten me, still I have to smile
It turns me on to think of growin' old
For though the life's been good to me
There's still so much to do

В последнее время я размышляю о своей жизни,
Обо всем, что я сделал, и как все было.
И я не могу не верить, в глубине души,
Что мне будет очень жаль, когда все закончится.
Я видел много солнца, спал под дождем,
Провел ночь-другую в полном одиночестве.
Я познал ласки моей любимой,
У меня были друзья,
И я провел немало времени в своем доме.
Должен сказать, в целом, жизнь была хороша.
Здорово иметь возможность побыть рядом,
Лежать у огня и смотреть, как наступает вечер,
Пока все мои друзья и моя любимая
Сидят и передают трубку по кругу,
И говорят о стихах, молитвах и обещаниях,
И о том, во что мы верим.
Как же сладко любить кого-то,
Как правильно – заботиться,
Как давно был вчерашний день,
А что насчет завтра?
А как насчет наших мечтаний
И всех воспоминаний, что мы разделяем?
Дни пролетают так быстро,
Ночи так коротки,
И время шепчет мне, когда холодно.
Перемены меня немного пугают, но я все равно улыбаюсь,
Меня заводит мысль о том, чтобы состариться.
Хотя жизнь была ко мне добра,
Еще так много предстоит сделать,
Так много вещей, которых мой разум еще не познал.
Я хотел бы создать семью, я хотел бы уплыть
И танцевать по горам на луне.
И я должен сказать, в целом, жизнь была хороша.
Здорово иметь возможность побыть рядом,
