I once had a horse called Brumby-O and hereby hangs a tale
I got him when I joined the Lancers down in New South Wales
Baroombie is an ancient word, for a horse that's wild and free
And that's why I called him Brumby-O
He was just a bit like me

One day they sailed us off to war
Across the ocean blue
For thirty days the ship she rolled

Each night I'd go up to his stall, on the upper deck

J'avais autrefois un cheval appelé Brumby-Ô et voici son histoire,
