I Wish I Was a Blue Job

Sometimes I wish I was a Blue Job, up in the sky.
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly.
But, I'll be a Brown Job until I die.
With ten years to go in the RLI.
The Sergeant that signed me up,
had a face like the back of a truck.
A tatoo on each knee,
and legs like a Mugla tree.
And the Medic that did my test,
he left me standing in my vest,
and then when I didn't see.
He stamped me with a TAP.

Parfois, ma chérie, je rêve d'être un Pilote, là-haut dans le ciel.
Je n'aurais pas à marcher si je pouvais voler.
Mais je serai un Fantassin jusqu'à ma mort.
Avec encore dix ans à tirer au RLI.
Le Sergent qui m'a enrôlé,
avait une face comme l'arrière d'un camion.
Un tatouage sur chaque genou,
et des jambes comme un arbre de Mugla.
Et le Médecin qui m'a examiné,
m'a laissé en sous-vêtements,
et puis quand je n'y voyais plus rien,
il m'a tamponné "APT".
