Есть охотничьи псы, есть ушастая лисица,
Полосатый шакал и пятнистая гиена.
Сквозь века они делали, что могли,
Но лишь Инджа, пёс преданный, стал другом для меня.
Первобытный человек в холодную ночь
Готовил у пещеры, при свете костра.
И дикие псы собрались у огня,
Просили еды, тепла и дружбы у меня.
Первыми пришли охотничьи псы,
Подкрадываясь к пылающим дровам.
Я сказал: "Не могу делить с вами еду –"
"– Вас слишком много, я не накормлю".
Есть охотничьи псы, есть ушастая лисица,
Полосатый шакал и пятнистая гиена.
Сквозь века они делали, что могли,
Но лишь Инджа, пёс преданный, стал другом для меня.
Затем явилась лисица ушастая,
Пугая моё беззащитное стадо.
Я сказал: "Друзьями нам не бывать –"
"– Из-за твоей-то коварности, знать!"
Пришёл и шакал, хитёр и лукав,
И криком своим напугал всех коров.
Я сказал: "Не люблю я твой вой,
Уходи прочь от костра, дорогой!"
Есть охотничьи псы, есть ушастая лисица,
Полосатый шакал и пятнистая гиена.
Сквозь века они делали, что могли,
Но лишь Инджа, пёс преданный, стал другом для меня.
И гиена пришла, испугав темноту,
Чуял её я за сотни верст.
Я сказал: "Ты – падальщик, мой друг,
И твой аромат мне совсем не по нутру".
Наконец появился Инджа, мой пёс,
Сквозь туман выходя на крыльцо.
Храбрый, верный до самого конца,
Я сказал: "Ты – мой лучший друг, без сомненья!"
