Ein Stück Himmel

Alles begann an dem Tag, als ich entdeckte,
dass ich aus meinem Fenster nur sehen konnte
Ein Stück Himmel.
Ich trat hinaus und sah mich um.
Ich hätte nie geträumt, dass er so weit ist
oder auch nur halb so hoch.
Die Zeit war gekommen
(Papa, kannst du mich hören?)
Meine Flügel zu erproben
(Papa, bist du mir nah?)
Und obwohl es schien, als könnte ich jeden Moment fallen,
spürte ich die
(Papa, kannst du mich sehen?)
wunderbarsten Dinge,
(Kannst du mich verstehen?)
Die Dinge, die man sich nicht vorstellen kann,
wenn man noch nie geflogen ist.
Obwohl es sicherer ist, am Boden zu bleiben,
manchmal findet man gerade dort, wo Gefahr liegt,
die süßesten Freuden.
Egal wohin ich gehe,
es wird Erinnerungen geben, die an meinem Ärmel ziehen,
aber es wird auch geben
mehr zu hinterfragen, doch mehr zu glauben.
Oh sag mir wo?
Wo ist jemand, der sich umdreht und mich ansieht?
Und teilen möchte
Jede meiner süßen, erträumten Möglichkeiten?
Je mehr ich lebe - desto mehr lerne ich.
Je mehr ich lerne - desto mehr erkenne ich,
wie wenig ich weiß.
Jeden Schritt, den ich mache -
(Papa, ich habe jetzt eine Stimme!) Jede Seite, die ich umblättere -
(Papa, ich habe jetzt eine Wahl!) Jede Meile, die ich reise, bedeutet nur,
dass ich noch mehr vor mir habe.
Was ist falsch daran, mehr zu wollen?
Wenn du fliegen kannst - dann schwing dich empor!
Bei allem, was es gibt - warum sich zufriedengeben mit
nur einem Stück Himmel?
