Dejó Carranza pasar americanos:
Dos mil soldados, trescientos aeroplanos,
Buscando a Villa, por todo el país.

Comenzaron a echar expediciones,
Los aeroplanos comenzaron a volar,
Por distintas y varias direcciones,
Buscando a Villa, queriéndolo matar.

Los soldados que vinieron desde texas
A Pancho Villa no podían encontrar,
Muy fastidiados de ocho horas de camino,
Los pobrecitos se querían regresar.

Los de a caballo no podían ir sentados,
Y los de a pié no podían caminar;
Entonces Villa les pasa en su aeroplano
Y desde arriba les grita: Gud bay.

Cuando supieron que Villa estaba muerto,
Todos gritaban henchidos de furor:
Ahora sí mis queridos compañeros,
Vamos a Texas cubiertos con honor.

Mas no sabían que Villa estaba vivo
Y que con él nunca iban a poder;
Si querían hacerle una visita
Hasta la sierra lo podían ir a ver.

Empezaron a lanzar sus aeroplanos,
Entonces Villa, un plan les preparo:
Se vistió de soldado americano
Y a sus tropas también las transformó.

Mas cuando vieron los gringos las banderas
Con muchas barras que Villa les pintó,
Se bajaron con todo y aeroplanos
Y Pancho Villa prisioneros los tomó.

Toda la gente de Chihuahua y ciudad Juárez
Muy asustada y asombrada se quedó,
Por que miraban tanto gringo y carrancista
Que Pancho Villa sin orejas los dejó.

Que pensarían los "bolillos" tan patones
Que con cañones nos iban a asustar;
Si ellos tienen aviones de a montones
Aquí tenemos lo mero principal.

Villa's Pursuit

On February 23rd in Mexico
Carranza allowed the Americans to cross:
Two thousand soldiers and three hundred aeroplanes
Searching for Villa throughout the land.

They began to send out expeditions
The aeroplanes began to fly
In various directions
Searching for Villa, wanting to kill him.

The soldiers who came from Texas
Couldn't find Pancho Villa.
Very tired after eight hours of marching,
The poor things wanted to go back.

Those on horseback couldn't sit
And those on foot couldn't walk.

When they heard that Villa was dead

But they didn't know that Villa was alive
And that they would never be able to defeat him.

They could go see him at the mountain range.

They started to launch their aeroplanes,
So Villa prepared a plan for them.
He dressed up as an American soldier
And transformed his troops as well.

But when the gringos saw the flags
With many stripes that Villa painted on them,
They got out with their aeroplanes
And Pancho Villa took them prisoner.

All the people of Chihuahua and Ciudad Juárez
Were very scared and astonished,
Because they saw so many gringos and Carrancistas
That Pancho Villa had left without ears.
