Nebuddchannezzer war der König von ganz Babylon (Shadrack)
Und sie nahmen sich viel Gold und bauten ihm ein Idol (Shadrack, Meshach, Abednego)

Und dann befahlen sie den Leuten: Wenn sie dann den Klang der Klarinette hör'n, zu kusch- (Oh yeah)
Befahlen allen Leuten, wenn der Klang der Flöte klingt, zu uh-uh, ah
Und sie befahlen allen Menschen: Wenn der Klang des Horns ertönt
Dann müsst ihr euch alle niederwerfen und anbeten das Idol
Aber nein!

Die Kinder Israels, sie willigten nicht ein (Shadrack)
Sie sagten: "Wir wollen keine Gold-Idol-Anbeter sein" (Shadrack), oh nein!
Die Kinder wussten sehr wohl, das Idol ist hohl (Shadrack)

Sagt das gute Buch, doch damit nicht genug
Er hat's sogar siebenmal heißer gemacht sie sonst immer
Und so wurde es immer schlimmer (Shadrack)
Dann hat er sogar seine eigenen Soldaten verbrannt
Und ist weggerannt

Dann hat der liebe Gott 'n Engel berufen
Mit zwei Engelsflügeln

Und so trotzten sie dem Höllenfeuer

Commanded all the people, when the sound of the flute plays, to uh-uh, ah
And they commanded all the people: When the sound of the horn is heard
Then you must all fall down and worship the idol
But no!

The children of Israel, they did not agree (Shadrack)
They said: "We don't want to be gold-idol worshippers" (Shadrack), oh no!
The children knew very well, the idol is hollow (Shadrack)
And so the king threw the kids into the fire (Shadrack), oh no!

"Heat on sulfur glowing hellstone" (Shadrack)
Says the good book, but that's not enough
He even made it seven times hotter than they usually do
And so it got worse and worse (Shadrack)
Then he even burned his own soldiers
And ran away

He said: "Go down and rummage through the inferno
And start to cool the flames"
The kids were overjoyed
And so they defied the hellfire
That was my bedtime story for the soul
About God's goodness
