While Pato Banton was down in London
It's been a secret now for far too long

When I go to London I get accommodation
From my aunt Patsy who lives in Brixton.
She's young free and single and a trouble to a man.
If she ever gets married I'm sorry for the husband.
She would wear the pants and he would wear the apron
She would make him wash the plates and scrub the dutchpan.
The other evening we were in the house playing Koon-Kan
A card game invented by a very wise man.
When I won six games straight my aunt shouted: "Oh! damn."
Then "bring bring" the telephone rang.
I threw down the cards and to the phone I ran
'Cause I was expecting a call from a lovely woman.
Her name was Pat she lived up north in Islington
It was either love, lust or infatuation.
"Hello is Pato there?" was he first question.
Cool as cucumber I replied: "You're speaking to the man."
"Can you come round tonight?" was her second question.
I said: "Darling your wish is my command."
She gave me her address and said: "See ya later on."
I just hung up the phone and said: "Auntie me gone."

Out of the front door heading in one direction
I was walking towards Brixton tube station.
On the Victoria Line I'd reach my destination
'Cause it's only ten stops from Brixton to Islington.
Brixton, Stockwell, Vauxall, Pimlico
I was on my way to see a lovely woman.
Victoria, Green Park, Oxford Circus, Warren St.
Then the next stop was Houston.
Two stops left from my destination
The King Cross (St. Panoras) then Highbury/Islington.
To reach Pat's house, it never take long
Me just ask a couple of people for the direction.
Me just run up the stairs and press the intercom
A voice said: "Who's that?" Me say: "Pato Banton."
When she opened the door my heart went bang!
This was beauty beyond all imagination.
Inside I went without no hesitation
'Cause to stay all night was my intention.
The tele' signed off at half past one
Then me and Pat had a short conversation.
Then to the bedroom me get me invitation
So now me a go tell you what went on.
The gal took off her wig and put it on a wall
You should have seen how her was bald.
Me so shock and surprised I could not laugh
That's when she tool out her teeth and put them in a glass.
I could tell she was a suffer from eczema

Me just pick up me jacket and fling on me cap
Out of the front door me start to gallop.

Als ich nach London ging, bekam ich Unterkunft
Von meiner Tante Patsy, die in Brixton lebt.
Sie ist jung, frei und ledig und eine Plage für einen Mann.
Wenn sie jemals heiratet, tut mir der Ehemann leid.
Sie würde die Hosen anhaben und er würde die Schürze tragen
Sie würde ihn die Teller waschen und den Schmortopf schrubben lassen.
Am anderen Abend spielten wir im Haus Koon-Kan
Ein Kartenspiel, erfunden von einem sehr weisen Mann.
Als ich sechs Spiele hintereinander gewann, rief meine Tante: "Oh! Verdammt."
Dann "bring bring" klingelte das Telefon.
Ich warf die Karten hin und rannte zum Telefon
Denn ich erwartete einen Anruf von einer reizenden Frau.
Ihr Name war Pat, sie wohnte oben im Norden in Islington
Es war entweder Liebe, Lust oder Verliebtheit.
"Hallo, ist Pato da?" war ihre erste Frage.
Ganz cool antwortete ich: "Du sprichst mit dem Mann."
"Kannst du heute Abend vorbeikommen?" war ihre zweite Frage.
Ich sagte: "Liebling, dein Wunsch ist mir Befehl."
Sie gab mir ihre Adresse und sagte: "Bis später dann."
Ich legte einfach den Hörer auf und sagte: "Tante, ich bin weg."

Aus der Haustür raus, in eine Richtung strebend
Ich ging in Richtung Brixton U-Bahn-Station.
Auf der Victoria Line würde ich mein Ziel erreichen
Denn es sind nur zehn Stationen von Brixton nach Islington.
Brixton, Stockwell, Vauxhall, Pimlico
Ich war auf dem Weg, eine reizende Frau zu sehen.
Victoria, Green Park, Oxford Circus, Warren St.
Dann war die nächste Station Euston.
Zwei Stationen noch bis zu meinem Ziel
King's Cross (St. Pancras), dann Highbury & Islington.
Pats Haus zu erreichen, dauerte nicht lang
Ich fragte nur ein paar Leute nach dem Weg.
Ich rannte einfach die Treppe hoch und drückte die Gegensprechanlage
Eine Stimme sagte: "Wer ist da?" Ich sage: "Pato Banton."
Als sie die Tür öffnete, machte mein Herz Bumm!
Das war Schönheit jenseits aller Vorstellungskraft.
Ich ging hinein ohne Zögern
Denn die ganze Nacht zu bleiben war meine Absicht.
Der Fernseher machte Sendeschluss um halb zwei
Dann hatten ich und Pat eine kurze Unterhaltung.
Dann bekam ich meine Einladung ins Schlafzimmer
Also erzähl' ich euch jetzt, was geschah.
Das Mädel nahm ihre Perücke ab und legte sie an eine Wand
Ihr hättet sehen sollen, wie kahl sie war.
Ich war so schockiert und überrascht, ich konnte nicht lachen
Da nahm sie ihre Zähne raus und tat sie in ein Glas.
Ich konnte sehen, dass sie an Ekzemen litt
Denn überall war sie voller Ausschlag.
Sie kam auf mich zu und fing an zu flüstern:
"Heute Nacht, Pato Banton, wirst du mein Liebhaber sein."
Ich schnappte mir nur meine Jacke und warf meine Mütze auf
Aus der Haustür fing ich an zu galoppieren.
Auch als das Mädel rief: "Pato, komm zurück!"
Weg bin ich und ich komm' nicht zurück.
