Ich wollte reich sein und mir schöne Sachen kaufen, all die tausend Dinge, die ich überhaupt nicht brauche. Ich wollt 'ne geile Karre und 'ne schicke Kette haben, verchromte Felgen und mein Outfit nur in freshen Farben. Dann wollt ich Geld sparen. Ich hab es probiert. Doch es reicht nie, egal wieviel man verdient. Ich wollte untertauchen und von vorne beginnen und ich wollte einmal was riskieren und mal im Lotto gewinnen. What I Wanted

Verse 1:

They wanted to be rich, buy beautiful things, a thousand things they didn't even need. They wanted a cool car, a fancy chain, chrome rims, and fresh outfits in vibrant colors. Then they wanted to save money. They tried, but it was never enough, no matter how much they earned. They wanted to disappear, start anew, take a risk, win the lottery. They wanted to be thin, just to fit the stereotype, but now everyone wants to touch their curves. Yeah, because their records are hot. All they ever did was rap.

Verse 2:

They wanted to save the world. It was all planned. But something always got in the way, even to this day. They wanted to fly to the moon, touch the stars, and burn like a comet in the atmosphere. They wanted to be first, stand behind the horizon. So far, they've only seen the sun from the front. They wanted to do things differently from the rest. But everyone else wants that too. So they just relaxed. They wanted so much, but most of all, they wanted to chill. They finally wanted to ask themselves what they really wanted. They couldn't help it, and today they figured it out. All they ever did was rap.

They wanted to take their time. They didn't want it to slip away, so they would have time to take their time now and then. They wanted to travel, see new perspectives. They wanted to close their eyes and be content. They wanted everything, but they didn't find it, but they jumped into the cold water all by themselves. They wanted to go from the bottom to the top, and that's why you hear them now, because all they ever did was rap.
