My weapon jammed and I got stuck way out and all alone

And then a big marine, with a pair of friendly eyes

If Charlie wants to tangle now, he'll have two to dodge"
I said, "Well, thanks a lot!" I told him my name and asked him his
And he said "The boys just call me Camouflage"

I was awfully glad to see this big Marine

J'étais un simple soldat de première classe lors d'une patrouille de recherche, à la chasse à Charlie
C'était la guerre dans la jungle en 1965
Mon arme s'est enrayée et je me suis retrouvé coincé, tout seul
Et j'entendais l'ennemi se rapprocher de l'extérieur
Juste à ce moment, j'ai entendu une brindille craquer et j'ai saisi mon arme vide
Et je me suis enterré de peur en attendant mon destin
Et puis un gros marin, avec un regard amical
Est apparu à côté de moi et a dit "Attends."
Si Charlie veut se battre maintenant, il aura deux ennemis à affronter"
