Achutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram

Upon the sacred ground where the Ganges flows with its matted locks,
Wearing a garland of long serpents hanging from His neck,
The sound of "Damad damad damaddama" resonates,

May Lord Shiva, who performs the Tandava dance, protect us. II1II

His matted hair adorned with the crescent moon, from which the Ganga flows,
A vibrant flame dances upon His head,
With a resounding "Dhagadhagadhagajjva" sound from His forehead,
May I always find delight in Lord Chandrashekhara, the youthful moon-crested one. II2II

He who is the friend and kin of the king of mountains, adorned with the playful crescent moon,
Bringing joy to the minds of those who gaze upon the vast expanse of the sky,
His compassionate gaze removes all obstacles,
May my mind find delight in Him, the Digambara, the sky-clad one, wherever He may be. II3II

His matted hair, arms, and throat adorned with the radiant glow of serpents,
His face smeared with the paste of Kadamba flowers and vermilion,
While the intoxicated ocean roars in the distance,
May my mind find wondrous delight in Bhutabhartari, the Lord of all beings. II4II

He who has a thousand eyes and wears the serpent Sheshanaga as a crown,
Whose feet are dusted with the pollen of flowers, making the moon appear pale,
With His matted hair adorned with the king of serpents,
May Lord Chakora Bandhushekharah, the one with the moon on His head, be victorious forever. II5II

From His radiant forehead, sparks of victory emerge,
He who devoured the five arrows of Kamadeva,
With a crescent moon adorning His head like a beautiful mark,
May the great Kapali, the skull-bearer, bring us prosperity. II6II

His fierce forehead adorned with a garland, shining brightly,
He who offered the sacrifice of Daksha's yagna into the fire,
He who wears the markings of Parvati's breast upon His forehead,
May my heart find delight in the three-eyed Lord, the sole artist of creation. II7II

He who is adorned with a necklace of dark clouds, resembling a fresh raincloud,
Whose neck is adorned with the darkness of the night,
May the bearer of the Ganga, the destroyer of obstacles,
The one who holds the universe, bring us prosperity. II8II

He who resembles a fully bloomed blue lotus, destroying the darkness of ignorance,
His neck adorned with a garland of snakes, representing the beauty of detachment,
He who destroys desire, ego, birth and death, attachment, and darkness,
I worship Him, the destroyer of all limitations. II9II

He who embodies all auspiciousness, like a cluster of Kalaka flowers,
Whose sweet nectar of bliss flows abundantly,
He who destroys the mind, limitations, and attachments,
I worship Him, the destroyer of all obstacles and limitations. II10II

Victorious is He, whose eyebrows move like playful serpents,
From whose fierce forehead, offerings are made with the sound of "Dhigdhigdhi",
With the auspicious sound of "Dhimiddhimiddhimidhva" from the Damaru drum,
Lord Shiva performs the Tandava dance with great intensity. II11II

He who holds snakes and pearl necklaces in His hands,
He who wears the most exquisite jewels and destroys His enemies,
He who has eyes like blooming lotuses and is the Lord of all beings,
When will I be able to worship Sadashiva, the eternal Lord, with a focused mind? II12II

When will I reside in a secluded forest dwelling near the flowing Ganga,
Free from all negativity, with my head bowed in reverence,
With my eyes fixed upon His captivating forehead,
Chanting the mantra "Shiva," may I always find true happiness. II13II

This supreme hymn, the purest of the pure,
Should be recited and remembered daily, leading to purity,
One who chants it with devotion to the Guru quickly attains liberation,
For contemplation of the auspicious Shankara dispels all delusion. II14II

The hymn sung by Ravana during his worship,
Whoever recites it during Pradosha time, dedicated to Shiva,
Lord Shambhu will bestow upon them lasting wealth, including chariots, elephants, and horses,
And the goddess Lakshmi will always be favorable to them. II15II
