In the year that king Uzziah died
I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne,
High and lifted up, and his train
Filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphim: each one had six wings;
With twain he covered his face, with twain he covered
His feet, and with twain he did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said:

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord; the whole earth is full of his glory

And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried,
And the house was filled with smoke. Then
Said I:

Woe onto me! Woe onto me! I am undone,
For mine eyes have seen the King Almighty

Then flew one of the seraphim unto me,
Having a live coal in his hand,
Which he had taken with the tongs
From off the altar:
And he laid it upon my mouth,
And said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips;
And thine iniquity is taken away, and
Thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

Whom shall I send? Whom shall I send?
And who will go for us? Then said I: Lord, here I am

L'année où le roi Ozias mourut,
J'ai vu le Seigneur assis sur un trône,
Haut et élevé, et sa traîne
Remplissait le temple.
Au-dessus de lui se tenaient les séraphins : chacun avait six ailes ;
Avec deux il se couvrait le visage, avec deux il se couvrait
Ses pieds, et avec deux il volait.
Et l'un criait à l'autre, disant :

Saint, saint, saint est le Seigneur ; toute la terre est pleine de sa gloire

Et les poteaux de la porte tremblaient à la voix de celui qui criait,
Et la maison était remplie de fumée. Alors
J'ai dit :

Malheur à moi ! Malheur à moi ! Je suis perdu,
Car mes yeux ont vu le Roi Tout-Puissant

Alors l'un des séraphins s'est envolé vers moi,
Tenant un charbon ardent dans sa main,
Qu'il avait pris avec des pincettes
De dessus l'autel :
Et il l'a posé sur ma bouche,
Et a dit, Voici, cela a touché tes lèvres ;
Et ton iniquité est enlevée, et
Ton péché purifié. J'ai aussi entendu la voix du Seigneur, disant :

Qui enverrai-je ? Qui enverrai-je ?
Et qui ira pour nous ? Alors j'ai dit : Seigneur, me voici
