Some believe that "Christian" is another word for "preachy." If that was the case, John Newton could not have been a Christian. He was a slave trader and was responsible for much pain and sorrow. One day he was literally hit in the head and in a light saw what the entire faith really meant: grace. Then he wrote Amazing Grace.

That saved a wretch like me

Certaines personnes pensent que "chrétien" est un autre mot pour "prêcheur". Si c'était le cas, John Newton n'aurait pas pu être un chrétien. Il était un négrier et était responsable de beaucoup de douleur et de chagrin. Un jour, il a été littéralement frappé à la tête et dans une lumière, il a vu ce que la foi entière signifiait vraiment : la grâce. Puis il a écrit Amazing Grace.
