This is my New Year's resolution:
When my mother-in-law begins to yell and shout

Frohes Neues Jahr

Das ist mein Neujahrsvorsatz:
Wenn meine Schwiegermutter anfängt zu schreien und zu toben,
würde ich sie gerne aus dem Fenster werfen.
Aber ich nehme mir vor, es nicht zu tun, und hier ist der Grund:
Ich habe Angst, jemanden zu treffen, der vorbeigeht.
Das ist mein Neujahrsvorsatz.

Wenn ich im Kino bin und eine Liebesszene sehe
und der Hut einer Dame die halbe Leinwand verdeckt,
nehme ich mir vor, nicht zu schreien: "Nehmen Sie diesen Hut ab!"
Ich werde ihn vorsichtig mit einem Baseballschläger entfernen.
Das ist mein Neujahrsvorsatz.

Wenn ich eine hübsche Dame zum Essen ausführe
und sie Kaviar anstelle von Fleisch bestellt,
nehme ich mir vor, die Dame sich satt essen zu lassen.
Und natürlich lasse ich sie auch die Rechnung bezahlen.
Das ist mein Neujahrsvorsatz.

Wenn ich mit meiner Frau im Bus sitze
und eine liebe alte Dame vor uns steht,
nehme ich mir vor, ein diskreter Gentleman zu sein.
Ich biete ihr höflich den Platz meiner Frau an.

Wenn meine Mutter sagt: "Komm rein, es ist Zeit zu essen."
und ich spiele weiter draußen auf der Straße,
nehme ich mir vor, sofort nach Hause zu eilen, wenn ich gerufen werde,
denn mein Vater hat gerade eine Haarbürste bekommen und er hat eine Glatze.

Ich hoffe, dieses Jahr im Radio zu punkten

In diesem kommenden Jahr werde ich diskret sein.

Ich nehme mir vor, Tschaikowsky zärtlich zu behandeln
