Right now we are celebrating Fearless and you know I mentioned a little while ago
That Taylor Swift tends to write a lot about love but it's not always happy songs

Breathe is another sad song, I like sad songs, it's a song about having to say goodbye to somebody
And the chorus just says over and over again, I can't breathe without you but I have to
And it's sort of like a mantra that I've said to myself on more than one occasion
Like I can't breathe without you but I have to, I have to do this, I have to, I can't but I have to
And so I wanted to write with Colbie so bad because I've been such a fan of her record
And she was one of my favorite, favorite new artist of this last year and I contacted her management
And said, "Please let me write with her, I really want to meet her and I wanna write with her"
And so she came into the show in Nashville and they made sure that I had that day off
And so I met with her at her management company and brought her this idea
And we wrote it together and it's about losing a person who feels like a piece of you
Feels like a piece of you is missing but you have to because you have no choice

Gerade feiern wir Fearless und ihr wisst, ich habe vor einer Weile erwähnt,
dass Taylor Swift dazu neigt, viel über Liebe zu schreiben, aber es sind nicht immer fröhliche Lieder.

Breathe ist ein weiteres trauriges Lied, ich mag traurige Lieder, es ist ein Lied darüber, sich von jemandem verabschieden zu müssen.
Und der Refrain sagt einfach immer und immer wieder: Ich kann nicht ohne dich atmen, aber ich muss.
Und es ist irgendwie wie ein Mantra, das ich mir bei mehr als einer Gelegenheit selbst gesagt habe.

Und deshalb wollte ich unbedingt mit Colbie schreiben, weil ich so ein Fan ihrer Platte war.
Und sie war eine meiner liebsten, liebsten neuen Künstlerinnen des letzten Jahres und ich kontaktierte ihr Management
Und sagte: „Bitte lasst mich mit ihr schreiben, ich möchte sie wirklich treffen und ich will mit ihr schreiben.“
Und so kam sie zur Show in Nashville und sie stellten sicher, dass ich an diesem Tag frei hatte.
Und so traf ich mich mit ihr bei ihrer Managementfirma und brachte ihr diese Idee.
Und wir schrieben es zusammen und es geht darum, eine Person zu verlieren, die sich wie ein Teil von dir anfühlt.
Es fühlt sich an, als ob ein Teil von dir fehlt, aber du musst, weil du keine Wahl hast.
