La calèche du Capitaine Kelly est arrivée à la porte dans une hâte terrible !
Son regard me disait bien qu'à ce moment-là elle souhaitait
Que j'aille en enfer, ou quelque part loin de la cuisine.
Elle s'est envolée de mes genoux, à sept pieds de haut ou plus
Et la tête la première, elle m'a jeté dans le feu
Mon nouveau manteau Repealers, que j'avais acheté chez Mme Stichen
Avec un billet de trente shillings, a pris feu dans la cuisine.
J'ai été attristé de voir mes vêtements, tout tachés de fumée et de cendres
Quand un seau d'eau savonneuse, elle me l'a jeté à la figure.
Alors que je gisais sur le sol, elle a continué à me jeter de l'eau
Jusqu'à ce que le majordome ouvre la porte, et entre dans la cuisine.
