It′s not about Shaq or Iron Mike

And listen to the tale of the time I fought Rocky

One day me and all my friends were hangin'

Then one friend says, "You know who′s really tough?"
"Rocky," (hit me home) "the boxer." Man,

I said, "Yeah I know him. What about him?" He said,
"He's really tough." "No way, man. I′m calling your bluff
"I think that I can take him and, to prove my point,
"I'll challenge him in public." (Yeah, that′s the joint!)

So the very next day, stayed true to my word
And I snuck on T.V. so I could be heard
I said, 'Rocky, if you're out there, I think you′re a nerd.
"And I′ll lick you and bury you like a dog turd!"

I got kicked out, but the candle was lit
'Cause the people had to know if my claim was legit
It made the headlines and I got the call
It was Rocky ("Hey") and he wanted to brawl

We negotiated terms and set the date
Then I went into training to add some muscle weight
While I punched on meat in a rickety shack
He was sippin′ on wine, having models rub his back

At the weigh-in, boy the tension was high
Me and Rock, toe-to-toe and eye-to-eye
I talked some trash, we got pulled apart
I shot him one last look to strike fear in his heart

Skip ahead, the big night was finally here
My body was ripped and my mind was clear
We entered the arena to the roar of the crowd
People chantin' my name - I never felt so proud

Faced off once more in the center of the ring
Touched gloves, said a prayer and the bell went
He hit me with a left and shattered my face
And a right sent my teeth all over the place

Then another great punch caved-in my eye socket
He broke my jaw and my trainer yelled, "Stop it!"
But nobody heard him and he crushed my ribs
Blood sprayed off my face and onto some kids

They yelled out, "More!" and Rocky obliged
I had to think of some way to turn the tides
So I leaned back to hit him with all of my might
Took a swing, but he caught me with a sucker punch right

Then a sucker punch left and a sucker punch right
Then twenty-two consecutive sucker punch rights
He tore off my arms and beat me with ′em
Then threw acid in my face which obscured my vision

He kicked me in the leg and fractured my shin
The bone splinters shot right out of my skin
People barfed in the crowd, they were going insane
And Rocky punched my nose-bone into my brain

I was quivering and twitching when I soiled my shorts
Then Rocky pissed on me, customary in sports
The doctor came out and pronounced me dead
And that was the night I fought Rocky

"Je pense que je peux le battre et, pour prouver mon point,
"Je vais le défier en public." (Ouais, c'est ça !)

Alors le lendemain même, j'ai tenu parole
Et je me suis faufilé à la télé pour me faire entendre
J'ai dit : 'Rocky, si t'es là-bas, je pense que t'es un nerd.
"Et je vais te lécher et t'enterrer comme un crottin de chien !"

J'ai été viré, mais la flamme était allumée
Parce que les gens devaient savoir si mon affirmation était légitime
Ça a fait la une des journaux et j'ai reçu l'appel
C'était Rocky ("Hey") et il voulait se battre

On a négocié les termes et fixé la date
Puis je me suis lancé dans un entraînement pour prendre du muscle
Pendant que je frappais sur de la viande dans une baraque branlante
Il sirotait du vin, se faisait masser le dos par des mannequins

À la pesée, mec, la tension était palpable
Moi et Rock, face à face et regard dans le regard
J'ai rabaissé un peu, on nous a séparés
Je lui ai jeté un dernier regard pour lui mettre la peur au ventre

Avance rapide, la grande soirée était enfin là
Mon corps était déchiré et mon esprit clair
On est entrés dans l'arène sous les acclamations de la foule
Les gens scandaient mon nom - je ne me suis jamais senti aussi fier

Face à face une fois de plus au centre du ring
On s'est touché les gants, on a prié et la cloche a sonné
Il m'a touché d'un gauche et m'a brisé la figure
Et un droit m'a envoyé toutes mes dents aux quatre vents

Puis un autre grand coup de poing m'a enfoncé l'orbite
Il m'a cassé la mâchoire et mon coach a crié : "Arrête !"
Mais personne ne l'a entendu et il m'a écrasé les côtes
Le sang giclait de mon visage et éclaboussait des enfants

Ils ont crié : "Encore !" et Rocky a obéi
J'ai dû trouver un moyen de renverser la vapeur
Alors je me suis penché en arrière pour le frapper de toutes mes forces
J'ai balancé, mais il m'a pris avec un coup de poing en pleine face

Puis un coup de poing en pleine face à gauche et un coup de poing en pleine face à droite
Puis vingt-deux coups de poing en pleine face à droite d'affilée
Il m'a arraché les bras et m'a battu avec
Puis il m'a jeté de l'acide au visage ce qui m'a brouillé la vue

Il m'a donné un coup de pied dans la jambe et m'a fracturé le tibia
Les éclats d'os ont jailli de ma peau
Les gens ont vomi dans la foule, ils sont devenus fous
Et Rocky a enfoncé mon os du nez dans mon cerveau

Je tremblais et j'avais des spasmes quand j'ai fait caca dans mon short
Puis Rocky a pissé sur moi, c'est une coutume dans le sport
Le médecin est sorti et m'a déclaré mort
Et c'est comme ça que j'ai combattu Rocky
