Interviewer: How are you today?
Lauri: I′m fine, thanks for asking!
Interviewer: How would you describe your new album?
Lauri: We have a good feeling from the new album.
The recording took place during the summer and the fall.
We had a clear idea how the CD should look like.
We collaborated with our friends and had a lot of fun!
Interviewer: Your first single is called "
I'm A Mess".
Could you tell me what is it about?
Lauri: It was actually the last song wrote before going to the studio.
We made it pretty quickly and spontaneously.
We thought that this could be our first single from the new album.
Nobody is actually perfect, that′s what this song is about.
Interviewer: Which song from the new album is your most favourite?
What is the story behind it?
Lauri: I think that it could be the song "
Sky".
It's a ballad that has a deep personal meaning for me.
I wrote it approximately five years ago.
I can't wait to play it live!
Interviewer: Are you excited about the upcoming European tour?
Lauri: Yes, we can′t wait to show our fans the new album and our older songs during those two weeks.
It′s starting in a month, specifically on the 7th of May.
The tour preparations are about to be finished.
We believe that we'll have a lot of fun.
We′re also planning a few performances on a few festivals.
After that, the world tour is awaiting us!
Interviewer: Do you have any time to go sight-seeing during the tour?
What cities are your favourite?
Lauri: Of course, we're always excited to do so!
I′d mention Milan, London or Paris for example.
Actually, we're playing in this little club in Paris.
But before that, I want to go and visit a few landmarks and have a enjoy a good coffee.
Interviewer: What "warm-up bands" are you going to have?
Lauri: We have a few names in our minds, but it′s still in progress, so I can't tell anything more detailed.

Interviewer: What are your future plans?
Lauri: We intend to make more music, have a tour around the whole world, and meet some fans!
We're also looking forward to summer and festivals, because we have a very long winter in Finland, unfortunately.
Interviewer: Are you planning a duet or a collaboration with any Finnish bands?
Lauri: There are a lot of great bands from Finland, such as HIM or Apocalyptica, with whom we′ve cooperated before.
But we′re planning no such thing at the moment, although it would be awesome if something like that happened!
Interviewer: What The Rasmus song is your most favourite to play live?
Lauri: That would be Immortal, since I experience an intense flow of energy between the fans and us.
Interviewer: What inspires you to write songs?
Do you finish the melody first, or is it the text?
Lauri: I usually come up with a melody first.
Everyday I get lots of ideas for new songs, so I always note everything on a dictaphone or on my computer.
I actually have something like a "library of melodies".
But, occasionally, it happens that I think of a text first; I made the song "
Somewhere" fifteen minutes after watching a movie of the same name by Sofia Coppola.
Interviewer: What was the job you wanted to do as a little kid?
Lauri: I wanted to be a chef and have my own restaurant.
I was six years old, I think.
I liked to prepare all sorts of yummy things for my family.
I also had my own menu, from which you could pick anything.
Interviewer: What is the craziest thing you've done?
Lauri: I could think of a lot of things, but the craziest was probably deep-diving in Vladivostok where the water was only 6°C!
It was a great experience.
I also went deep-diving to Caribbean.
Interviewer: And what romantic thing did you do for somebody?
Lauri: I made the dinner, for example.
Interviewer: What is your favourite country that you like to travel to?
Lauri: Naturally, Finland is my most favourite country in the whole world.
But I love travelling and getting to know different cultures.
I loved being in Singapore where I had been with the guitarist, Pauli.
I like to travel to Mexico or South America.
Oh, I can′t forget to mention Norway.
I admire the beauty of the nature there.
Interviewer: What comes to your mind first when somebody mentions Czech Republic?
Lauri: I remember my first visit to Prague when I was fifteen.
My sister had lived here for a while, so I went to visit her.
I liked all of those historical buildings.
And I was also pleased to be treated so nicely by everybody!
Interviewer: And when are you planning to visit the Czech Republic?
Lauri: I hope anytime soon!
We received a lot of invites to all sorts of summer festivals in different countries.
It's for the organizers to decide.
We continue with another tour in fall, so this option is more probable.

Interviewer: Comment vas-tu aujourd'hui?
Lauri: Je vais bien, merci de me le demander !
Interviewer: Comment décrirais-tu votre nouvel album ?
Lauri: Nous avons un bon feeling pour ce nouvel album.
L'enregistrement a eu lieu pendant l'été et l'automne.
Nous avions une idée claire de ce à quoi le CD devait ressembler.
Nous avons collaboré avec nos amis et nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés !
Interviewer: Votre premier single s'appelle «
I'm A Mess ».
Peux-tu me dire de quoi ça parle ?
Lauri: C'est en fait la dernière chanson que nous ayons écrite avant d'entrer en studio.
On l'a faite assez rapidement et spontanément.
On s'est dit que ça pourrait être notre premier single du nouvel album.
Personne n'est vraiment parfait, c'est de ça que parle cette chanson.
Interviewer: Quelle chanson du nouvel album est ta préférée ?
Quelle est l'histoire derrière elle ?
Lauri: Je pense que ça pourrait être la chanson «
Sky ».
C'est une ballade qui a une signification personnelle profonde pour moi.
Je l'ai écrite il y a environ cinq ans.
J'ai hâte de la jouer en live !
Interviewer: Êtes-vous excités par la prochaine tournée européenne ?
Lauri: Oui, nous avons hâte de montrer à nos fans le nouvel album et nos anciennes chansons pendant ces deux semaines.
Ça commence dans un mois, plus précisément le 7 mai.
Les préparatifs de la tournée sont sur le point de se terminer.
On pense qu'on va bien s'amuser.
Nous prévoyons également quelques concerts dans quelques festivals.
Après cela, la tournée mondiale nous attend !
Interviewer: Avez-vous le temps de faire du tourisme pendant la tournée ?
Quelles sont tes villes préférées ?
Lauri: Bien sûr, on est toujours partants pour ça !
Je mentionnerais Milan, Londres ou Paris par exemple.
En fait, on joue dans ce petit club à Paris.
Mais avant ça, j'aimerais aller visiter quelques monuments et prendre un bon café.
Interviewer: Quels sont les « groupes de première partie » que vous allez avoir ?
Lauri: Nous avons quelques noms en tête, mais c'est encore en cours, donc je ne peux rien dire de plus précis.

Interviewer: Quels sont vos projets futurs ?
Lauri: On a l'intention de faire plus de musique, de faire une tournée dans le monde entier et de rencontrer des fans !
On attend aussi avec impatience l'été et les festivals, parce qu'on a un hiver très long en Finlande, malheureusement.
Interviewer: Envisagez-vous un duo ou une collaboration avec des groupes finlandais ?
Lauri: Il y a beaucoup de bons groupes finlandais, comme HIM ou Apocalyptica, avec qui nous avons déjà coopéré.
Mais nous ne prévoyons rien de tel pour le moment, même si ce serait génial que ça arrive !
Interviewer: Quelle chanson de The Rasmus préfères-tu jouer en live ?
Lauri: Ce serait « Immortal », car je ressens un flux d'énergie intense entre les fans et nous.
Interviewer: Qu'est-ce qui t'inspire pour écrire des chansons ?
Est-ce que tu finis la mélodie en premier, ou est-ce le texte ?
Lauri: En général, je trouve une mélodie en premier.
Tous les jours, j'ai plein d'idées de nouvelles chansons, alors je note toujours tout sur un dictaphone ou sur mon ordinateur.
En fait, j'ai une sorte de « bibliothèque de mélodies ».
Mais, parfois, il arrive que je pense à un texte en premier ; j'ai fait la chanson «
Somewhere » quinze minutes après avoir vu un film du même nom de Sofia Coppola.
Interviewer: Quel métier voulais-tu faire quand tu étais petit ?
Lauri: Je voulais être chef cuisinier et avoir mon propre restaurant.
J'avais six ans, je crois.
J'aimais préparer toutes sortes de bonnes choses pour ma famille.
J'avais aussi mon propre menu, sur lequel on pouvait choisir ce qu'on voulait.
Interviewer: Quelle est la chose la plus folle que tu aies faite ?
Lauri: Je pourrais penser à beaucoup de choses, mais la plus folle a probablement été la plongée sous-marine à Vladivostok où l'eau était à seulement 6 °C !
C'était une expérience formidable.
J'ai aussi fait de la plongée sous-marine aux Caraïbes.
Interviewer: Et quelle chose romantique as-tu faite pour quelqu'un ?
Lauri: J'ai fait le dîner, par exemple.
Interviewer: Quel est ton pays préféré pour voyager ?
Lauri: Naturellement, la Finlande est mon pays préféré au monde.
Mais j'adore voyager et découvrir différentes cultures.
J'ai adoré être à Singapour où j'étais allé avec le guitariste, Pauli.
J'aime voyager au Mexique ou en Amérique du Sud.
Oh, je ne peux pas oublier de mentionner la Norvège.
J'admire la beauté de la nature là-bas.
Interviewer: À quoi penses-tu en premier quand on parle de la République tchèque ?
Lauri: Je me souviens de ma première visite à Prague quand j'avais quinze ans.
Ma sœur avait vécu ici pendant un moment, alors je suis allé lui rendre visite.
J'ai aimé tous ces bâtiments historiques.
Et j'ai aussi été ravi d'être aussi bien accueilli par tout le monde !
Interviewer: Et quand comptes-tu visiter la République tchèque ?
Lauri: J'espère que ce sera bientôt !
Nous avons reçu beaucoup d'invitations pour toutes sortes de festivals d'été dans différents pays.
C'est aux organisateurs de décider.
Nous continuons avec une autre tournée à l'automne, donc cette option est plus probable.
