I was tired of my lady, we'd been together too long.

So while she lay there sleeping, I read the paper in bed.
And in the personals column, there was this letter I read:

I didn't think about my lady, I know that sounds kind of mean.
But me and my old lady, had fallen into the same old dull routine.
So I wrote to the paper, took out a personal ad.
And though I'm nobody's poet, I thought it wasn't half-bad.

I'm not much into health food, I am into champagne.

So I waited with high hopes, then she walked in the place.

J'en avais assez de ma chérie, on était ensemble depuis trop longtemps.
Comme un disque usé, d'une chanson préférée.
Alors qu'elle dormait, j'ai lu le journal au lit.
Et dans la rubrique des petites annonces, j'ai lu cette lettre :

"Si tu aimes les Pina Colada et te faire prendre la pluie.
Si tu n'aimes pas le yoga et que tu as une demi-tête.

Je n'ai pas pensé à ma chérie, je sais que ça a l'air méchant.
Mais ma chérie et moi, nous étions tombés dans la même vieille routine.
Alors j'ai écrit au journal, j'ai passé une petite annonce.
Et bien que je ne sois pas un poète, j'ai trouvé que c'était pas mal du tout.

Je ne suis pas très fan de la nourriture santé, mais j'aime le champagne.
Je dois te rencontrer demain midi, et couper tout ce ruban rouge.
Dans un bar appelé O'Malley's, où nous planifierons notre évasion."

Alors j'ai attendu avec impatience, puis elle est entrée dans le bar.
J'ai reconnu son sourire en un instant, j'ai reconnu la courbe de son visage.
C'était ma propre chérie, et elle a dit : "Oh, c'est toi."
Et nous avons ri un instant, et j'ai dit : "Je n'ai jamais su".
