Last night I had a bad dream

But it just won't let me in.
There were Grandma's that were chokin' and clingin' to their necks
And the mothers they just lied
There while blood gusted from their heads
And the fathers they were screaming while priests were being sick
And the vomit hit the ceiling while the blood was running thick
And the Goth's all ran off naked and the punks all started crying
And the rockers they all fainted
'Cos there was no denying
That the hands of human nature had surely come to blows
And the end of earth is here and only Jesus knows
But the fathers they were laughin' down the public house
And the demons they all ran in and threw the fathers out
And they stabbed them in their
Bellies and they ripped off arms and legs
But the demons started joking and had a drink instead
But the fireman they were on strike so they could not resolve
And the army cut the 'phone line so they were not involved
And while all this was happenin' I was fast asleep,
With a very foolish nightmare and memories I won't keep
So I woke up in the mornin' with an idea for a song
And I knew that this would come out and I know it wouldn't be long

Letzte Nacht hatte ich einen schlechten Traum
Und er hat mich völlig umgehauen
Und es gab keine Lösung
Und ich war den ganzen Tag wach
Und alles, was ich sehe, ist Schrecken
Und er kriecht mir unter die Haut
Und ich klopfe an wegen meines Albtraums
Aber er lässt mich einfach nicht herein.
Da waren Großmütter, die erstickten und sich an ihre Hälse klammerten
Und die Mütter, sie lagen einfach da
Während Blut aus ihren Köpfen schoss
Und die Väter, sie schrien, während Priester sich übergaben
Und das Erbrochene traf die Decke, während das Blut dick floss
Und die Goths rannten alle nackt davon und die Punks fingen alle an zu weinen
Und die Rocker fielen alle in Ohnmacht
Denn es gab kein Leugnen
Dass die menschliche Natur offensichtlich aneinandergeraten war
Und das Ende der Welt ist hier und nur Jesus weiß es
Aber die Väter, sie lachten unten in der Kneipe
Und die Dämonen rannten alle herein und warfen die Väter hinaus
Und sie stachen sie in ihre
Bäuche und rissen ihnen Arme und Beine ab
Aber die Dämonen fingen an zu scherzen und tranken stattdessen etwas
Aber die Feuerwehrleute streikten, also konnten sie nicht eingreifen
Und die Armee kappte die Telefonleitung, damit sie nicht involviert waren
Und während all dies geschah, schlief ich tief und fest,
Mit einem sehr törichten Albtraum und Erinnerungen, die ich nicht behalten werde
Also wachte ich am Morgen auf mit einer Idee für ein Lied
Und ich wusste, dass es dazu kommen würde, und ich wusste, es würde nicht lange dauern
