Kimberly couldn't believe what she was seeing
Video was grainy but she could make out his face

The cabbie walks off into the night unseen while

Histoire 7

Kimberly n'arrivait pas à croire ce qu'elle voyait.
La vidéo était granuleuse, mais elle pouvait distinguer son visage.
C'était forcément Steve.
Elle ne l'avait pas vu depuis combien de temps ?
Ça ne pouvait pas faire plus de deux jours.
C'était qui cette pétasse à genoux ?
Elle n'était même pas jolie, putain.
Il valait mieux qu'il ne soit pas encore chez elle.
Elle cherchait ses clés à tâtons.
Elle vérifie la serrure, elle est cassée.
Impatiente, le visage renfrogné,
Kimberly ouvre la porte.
Elle n'était pas prête, elle laisse tomber les clés.
Elle tombe par terre et essaie de reprendre son souffle.
Steve était toujours là, sur le sol.
Enfin, ce qu'il en restait, des os tordus.
Les morceaux de son corps étaient empilés dans un désordre indescriptible.
Comment avait-elle pu ne pas remarquer
toutes ces griffures ? Ça pouvait être des ongles, ou des dents.

Elle aurait dû regarder le sol,
suivre le sang jusqu'au rebord de la fenêtre,
où il disparaissait dans la nuit.

Cynthia se promenait au clair de lune,
essuyant nonchalamment le sang au coin de ses lèvres.
Cynthia savait que Steve ne tiendrait pas ses promesses,
depuis le moment où il avait refusé de la manger.
Cynthia chantait dans la nuit bleue,
temporairement satisfaite, mais elle savait que ça ne durerait pas.

assoiffée et cherchant quelqu'un pour l'aider à passer le temps.

Après avoir envoyé les photos,
Randy décida qu'il avait bien mérité un verre.
Merde, il fêtait la fin d'une affaire horrible.
Il n'aurait plus jamais à revoir cette femme, Kimberly.
Il se dit que, putain, il avait accompli cette tâche, simple au demeurant.

Bref, travail bien fait, il entre au pub Brew Right.
L'endroit est bondé, il repère une place au bar.
Il commande un scotch et sent une main douce sur son épaule.
Il se retourne et croise le regard d'une femme
qui lui dit qu'elle s'appelle

Cynthia, les jambes croisées au bar, un verre à la main.
Clin d'œil, moue ses lèvres.
Cynthia murmure et son cœur fait un bond dans sa poitrine.
Il réfléchit, hésite.
Cynthia, la langue sur son oreille maintenant, peut-être qu'il devrait payer
l'addition.
Cynthia sait exactement où aller maintenant, ils partent et hèlent
un taxi.

Il demande, c'est le genre de situation où il doit payer ?
Et si oui, il va avoir besoin d'un délai. (chèque, chèque)
Elle dit : "Tu peux avoir celle-ci gratuitement, bébé."
Elle se mordille les lèvres et commence à lui mordiller le cou.
Il dit que le plus fou dans tout ça, entre les morsures et les baisers,
c'est qu'il n'a pas mis les pieds dans un taxi depuis la fois où il a perdu sa sœur.
Mais Cynthia ne l'écoute pas, elle est en mission.
C'est la pleine lune et elle a mal, et il pourrait bien être le remède.
Et maintenant elle relève sa robe, et il attrape ses seins.
Et elle commence à voir le sang pulser dans ses veines.

Le chauffeur de taxi s'éloigne dans la nuit sans être vu tandis que
Cynthia est toujours enfermée dans les bras de Randy.
Enfin, à part la fenêtre à meneaux qui surplombe la scène et
Cynthia regarde droit dans les yeux son funeste destin.
La petite Trina regarde tout ce qui se passe en bas
mais ne crie pas et
Cynthia hurle à la lune.
Demain, Trina va se réveiller
en se demandant si tout cela n'était qu'un rêve.
