A Vision of Paradise

Love, then, demolishes
The tottering structure we maintain
And just before we collapse with it
Rebuilds us with different materials.

It gives us grace and depth,
Hardness and frightening heights,
Promotes us to an unknown landscape
And gives us the world again.

It touches our numbed limbs
Decimal, mixed, and solitary
And, violating every rule,
Makes them whole and sums them up.

Dream or disease, it will pass
With an echo of glances and a dizziness.
Silence, like a fly in a bottle,
Will cover the music of the world.

After its turmoil and its din
It leaves, there on the tips of the fingers,
Like down, the golden rust of the nails,
And a view through a large window.

A vision of paradise, nothing more.
