Над землёй мороз
Под землёй огонь
Между ними ты поёшь печаль
Звёзд холодный свет
Не даёт тепла
На столе стоит остывший чай

А в нашем городе зима не зима - пытка
Над головами, как и под ногами - плитка
Несёт меня кибитка жёлтая
Несёт любовь убытки. Шёл бы я

Лучше пешком, но там собаки толпами
В мешке у каждого отвёртки с фомками
Хотят сломать игрушку - мою грудную клетку
И выпустить кукушку в желудки к своим деткам

И вот я прячусь в комнатах, не выхожу
Лишь иногда инкогнито, как сонный жук
В окне метель целлофановая
Во сне капель, зацеловывая

На крыше слишком много снега, вот-вот рухнет
А наши службы ЖЭКа - трутни, будто рук нет
Я в горлышко воткнул букет бумажный
И солнышко прошу - пусть Он придёт однажды

А Он придёт и приведёт за собой весну
И рассеет серых туч войска
А когда мы все посмотрим в глаза Его
На нас из глаз Его посмотрит тоска

И откроются двери домов
Да ты садись, а то в ногах правды нет

Frost upon the Earth
Beneath the Earth there's fire
You sing your sorrow in between
The cold light of the stars
Provides no warmth
The chilled tea sits upon the table

Yet in our town, winter's not winter – but torment
Overhead, as underfoot, there's nothing but pavement
The yellow hearse carries me
Love brings only loss. I would rather walk

But better to walk than to be met by a pack of dogs
Each carrying a bag of lock picks and crowbars
They want to break my plaything – my ribcage
And let the cuckoo out to feed her children

And so I hide in my room, I don't go out
Only sometimes, incognito, like a sleepy bug
Through the window, the artificial blizzard
In my dream, the thaw, kissing me

There's too much snow on the roof, it's about to cave in
But our housing services are lazy, as if they have no hands
I stick a paper bouquet in the bottle
And I beg the sun – let Him come, just once

And He will come and bring spring
And disperse the army of grey clouds
And when we all look into His eyes
We will see sorrow reflected in them

And the doors of the houses will open
